At November 18, Mike Brown goes toe to toe with the knockout artist Jose Aldo to defend his WEC featherweight title. Two weeks before the fight, the American Top Team talent spoke with TATAME.com about the fight, promising a great show and showing a lot of respect for the contender.

“I’m sure he’s training very hard and hungry for the title, but I’m hungry to keep the title. It’s gonna be a great battle between me and Aldo, no doubt”, Brown said, ready for the fight. “I can fight tomorrow. I was ready two weeks ago to the fight”.

I think it will be similar to Brown's fight with Yves Edwards.

”Nothing fancy, I won’t try to take him to the ground, fight on top, simple”. Expecting a great fight, the American said he thinks it’ll be a stand up war.

Hard to tell exactly what Brown is saying there, probably due to the translation. But if Mike Brown is saying he wants to stand with Jose Aldo he must not be nearly as smart of a fighter as I thought he was.

He's probably saying he wants to stand with Aldo because it hypes the fight and or it will make Aldo come in with a bad game plan. There is no reason for Brown not to take this down and look for a late TKO. Aldo is ridiculous standing up.

Yeah that statement has me wondering as well. I like Brown and he is a great fighter but standing and trading with Aldo is almost as smart as Torres trying to slug it out with Bowles.

Torres had Bowles hurt bad before he was dropped this is a different stylistic matchup of striker vs wrestler, I'd be as bold to say Brown probably wont hit Aldo cleanly if at all. I want Aldo to win badly but cmon Mikey, you wanna keep the title? take it down.

I don't agree that Torres had Bowles hurt at all. But that wasn't really my point. It was just saying its bad to go in to a fight trying to beat another fighter at what the are very good at. Bowles is tough kid with KO power and is a Wrestler/brawler. It was stupid to try to brawl with him to prove your tough. What Torres should have done is exploit his weaknesses or at least used his advantages (his reach and speed) better.

you gotta be sh*ttin me with that..Edwards has never been on the same level as Aldo..Edwards in his prime would still lose to Aldo right now...

I guess thats the beauty of opinion, getting hit a bunch of times, backing up and getting slightly buckled tells me he was at least a little hurt.
