There should be little doubt in everyone's mind that Jordan is the better overall player here. The only argument that can be made is who is the better offensive player. That's a little closer, but despite Kobe's 81 point game, Jordan was better throughout his career. Just look at what MJ was still doing at Kobe's current age.

I voted Kobe, cause he's my favorite player ever. MJ is the clear choice tho. Hes numbers are better.
Offensive: Slight edge Kobe 51% to 49%
Defensively: Slight edge Jordan 60% to 40%
BBall IQ: Slight edge Jordan 52% to 48%
Clutch: Even
Overall: Jordan maybe 51% to 49%

Extremely close tho.

I start off by saying I've hated both these guys for what they've done to my Blazers. With that being said, I find myself defending Jordan in the debate of who is the GOAT. Jordan never had a dominate center like Kobe. He had Pippen, a great player, who is like Lamar Odom. Pau Gasol is a better all around player tho not as good a rebounder as Rodman. Both were coached by the Zen Master so that's a push. Kobe has Artest whos defense is Rodman like. The Lakers have had more depth then the Bulls did.

The Bulls had an underrated bench tho. They had some pretty well rounded players on Jordan's teams.

Yeah, they weren't as bad as people claimed, but the lakers worst 5 would have beaten the bulls worst 5. Jake Haley isn't getting sh*t done

Not even close....Kobe isn't worthy enough to hold Jordan's jock.

Odom is like …Pippen stylistically, but Pippen is one of the greatest players ever. Odom is a mouse fart in a windstorm to Pippen.

I was refering to all-around style player, not overall quality of careers

I think that statement is crazy.
Kobe is right up there next to him. Rings and stats.

I do not even care for the statistics although Jordan easily takes it if one was to go by statistics.

What makes Jordan a better basketball player than Kobe is the fact Jordan had leadership skills and he was a diplomatic figure for the NBA. Jordan displayed a likable image for many fans while Kobe is easily hated by many.

Jordan held the ball much of the time during games but he was not deemed a ball-hogger because of his leadership within his team. Kobe, on the other hand, was deemed a ball-hogger simply because he would not pass the ball to other players who could easily score i.e. Oneil.

It takes more than statistics and championships to become great. One of the greatest basketball players in NBA history made a name for himself by being selfless and that is Magic Johnson.

IMO, Jordan is first - followed closely by Johnson and the rest are somewhat tied for third.

How can you say he didnt pass the ball to Shaq. Shaq averaged over 30 a game because of the triangle offense and the ball was always dumped into the post. Kobe may be hated by a lot, but he's number 2 all time, hands down. No one comes close to Kobe or MJ.

Bill Russell may have something to say about that, and Wilt also. The reason kobes stats ate up there is cuz he had a 4 year headstart. Kobe is great but I'd put him 5th all-time right now. MJ, Russell, Wilt, and Magic IMO are ahead of him with Lebron, Bird, Shaw, Duncan, Oscar Robertson to round out my top 10

I dont think leBron has any right being in the top ten. If you want to talk about leadership and class. The only time those words are mentioned with LeBron is when people say how little of both he has. I hope that bum never wins a title.

Lebron has changed the game. His mix of size, speed, and strength is unguardable. He scores like MJ, passes like Magic, and rebounds like Pippen. And his defense is ever improving. I don't like him as a person (in fact hate is a good word for my feelings) but he is an unbelievable basketball talent. Basically he's a bigger, faster, stronger Oscar Robertson.
Oh and I wish he never wins a title as well

If you are saying Jordan had to deal with hand checks and still managed to pull off some of the most amazing shots and dunks, then I completely agree.

Yes sir, they all cheat. I Love Jordan and Kobe, two of my favorites ever. Jordan is #1 and Kobe is a close #2. Bottom line.
