god was that ridiculous herb dean is miserable. ryan ford landed 2 huge elbows after the bell then herb dean says he didnt hear the bell. then he doesnt call it a no contest wtf.

no one seemed to hear the bell other then Spratt.

the announcers didnt, Ford didnt, Dean didnt....there wasnt much to do...although if Spratt wuldnt have continued I think a NC should have been inplace...

but I dont think Spratt was as hurt as he was acting...I think he was playing it up a bit...

I saw that too. Herb LIED out his ass! He said he didn't hear it. I think more accurately would be "I thought I heard it, but I wasn't sure. Even after Pratt clearly moved both arms above his head to let Ford go, I still wasn't sure. Those were two huge blows man, but don't worry, you can have as much time as you want. Damn, I blew that call"

If you watch the replay, you can see him start to motion the fighters to stop. Pratt puts both arms above his head. Can't blame Ford too much, hell he prob thought he misheard since Herb didn't step in. But that was a huge elbow and punch while Pratt was completely relaxed. Herb also didn't see half the shorts grabbing, though he did eventually deduct a point.

horrible, i hope they rematch. ford looked good but that shouldve been a no contest. spratts corner even asked herb if it would be a no contest if he stopped and herb said ill let you know when u make that decision or somethin along those lines. that was just silly.

It was a pretty bad miss by Herb, you could tell he thought he might have heard it, but then reconsidered and let them keep going. I think that Spratt played up being hurt a lot more than he was, and I think that Ford was on his way to winning that one late elbows or not, but a rematch would be great!

How about that Jesse Forbes/Chris Camozzi bloodbath, what a great comeback! There was no way I though that Forbes could have pulled off that armbar, he looked beat to hell and completely spent.

So Spratt got hit after the bell to end Rnd 1 and then got RNC'd in Rnd 2? I didn't see the fight or PBP, but that's what I'm getting out of this, correct?

Yep, the crowd was still cheering very loudly after Ford scored a takedown on Spratt and the bell sounded. It was quite audible on TV and Herb looked like he was going to step in for a second, then he backed off and Ford dropped a couple of elbows on him (its funny because according to the "Universal Rules" that they gave at the start of the night, elbows were disallowed on a downed opponent but everyone was using them at will basicly the whole night with not a word from any ref).

When Spratt ate the elbows he looked at Herb and you could tell he was like "What the hell man the bell sounded" and then Herb seperated them, and suddenly Spratt went from being pissed off at the elbows and giving Herb a piece of his mind to being semi-comotose for the next 5 mins, giving a pretty gassed looking Ford lots of time to catch his breath.

Second round was all Ford.

1rst -Ford falls through the ropes when Spratt had a good chance of finishing( one reason I prefer the cage)
2nd- The ref screws up( absolutely) and claims he didn't hear the bell( allegedly) and Ford didn't hear the bell either( allegedly) and Spratt gets konked twice( absolutely)
3rd- Ford actually had a point deducted for grabbing shorts.

Sounds like some shifty stuff. Dean needs a suspension from reffing IMO .I just can't in good conscience beleive Spratt deserves a loss when all that was going on.

That was crazy! You seen Dean clearly react to the bell when it goes off... as soon as it dings he immediately starts to break them up, then pulls back! Big John leaves the game and refs just start to go crazy or what?

Wow, what was herb thinking? He clearly heard the bell, soon as he rang he went to split them up then he backs up? If thats not a no contest then i dont know what is. Spratt might of played up to it but it wasnt even like it was really close to the bell, their was a few seconds. Also, i agree with hippy, spratt could of finished that fight when he dropped him but the guy looked like he was trying to push himself further out of the ring. Very very bad refereeing imo.

It was a bizarre event. I think that the problem doesn't fully fall on Herb. I think that the bell should've rang more than once because it might be hard to hear that. I didn't buy the crowd noise, as I'm sure it's a lot harder to hear at a UFC event instead of a small gym. It was also weird that the guy hit under the ropes like that. I've seen that happen more than people grabbing the cage and think that another point should be deducted. It's a shame that Pete lost this fight as it appeared he was getting his career back on track.

i dont have HDnet like 80 percent of the mma fans so can somebody give me the results of this entire event
