God I'd love to ee that $hit talker in a cage!!! I think he might win 2-4 times before a grappler would tear his arms off!!! What's his weight...LW, if so I'd like to see him in there with Clay or Edgar....that would set him straight!!

yeah i just read this on ESPN, he came out with Cuban for the Hatton fight and they are supposedly huge friends since meeting on Dancing w/ the Stars (business motivated friends im sure). I am a HUGE Pretty Boy Floyd fan and not quite sure how i would react to seeing him in the octagon. i know he would never get tired, but might be in for a rude awakening once he gets taken down by someone. but u know he wont fight any top level fighter....too cocky for that i think

of course if they give him some cans with 0 ground game, he will probably win a fight or 2 but as soon as he will fight a real complete fighter who will take him down in the fight 5 sec. he will be destroy !!

he weighed in his fight with hatton at 147, so could easily fight at 145 or 155

If the guy can't take him down within 2 minuets the guy would be out cold. Also Floyd's a FW so they could put him up against jens, urijah, cub, anyone. I think he would be amazing with a good sprawl.

Did anybody else notice that they have the exact same quote twice in that article? I mean, come on, it's only like 300 words. And half of the thing is the same quote repeated. Almost makes me question the source....

Anyway, Floyd won't be successful in MMA. He's a boxer. He has never trained in jiu-jitsu, and I don't think he has the drive. Why would he come to MMA (where there is less money) and have a reason to want to excel? He can talk about "doing everything he can do in boxing," but I don't seem to remember him winning a unified title. Maybe I'm wrong there....

So let him go against Curran!!! Once again arms would be lost!!

I only like the idea cause it hurts boxing in a sense if he left that completely. Screw Don king

Wow, this in intriguing. If Cuban could bring him to MMA it would be a major coup. I would be surprised if it did happen though. Look at the purses a top boxer makes vs the purses of a top MMA fighter. No comparison, a boxer makes 10 times as much or more. Would he do it for Honor? Maybe but it wouldn't be wise, they are two different sports and barring a lucky punch a good grappler is going to take him down and submit him easily. Mayweather's people will undoubtably talk him out of this.. but you never know.

I dont know, 6 titles in 5 different weight classes... Pretty impressive to me.

And he will never do MMA, theres not enough money in it. He's cleared over 100 million this year in two fights.

EDIT: For the record, I hate PBF. Hes good though.

dont count pretty boy out, his name could draw huge gates and ppv buys which is great exposure for mma plus this guy is an athlete freak so developing a good sprawl wouldn't be hard and who knows he could pick up the ground game fast and it is completely up to his oppenent to take him down cause no one and i mean no one could stand with him at LW or FW, yea does talk hit but he back its and his character would be great to help cuban kick his mma league and mma in general, (dk y they arent marketing rampage more but i guess tuf will help) and hes said in the passed he respect mma fighters and just helped hype his fights by talkin shit bout it, he knows how to market. but for the time bein he would get cans for awhile i he did cross over. still would love to see him in the cage though

Man, Urijah Faber could and would OWN Mayweather in a cage.

but i would LOVE to see em fight BJ, Sherk would be too easy, BJ would be a great matchup.

LOL Mayweather is going to ruin being undefeated and once and for all prove that hes the Best P4P Boxer, NOT Best P4P Fighter in the world

Oh I have no doubt that if Mayweather came over and had an MMA fight it would be one of the best things to happen to MMA. It would bring a huge worldwide audience, a huge press buzz. and hordes of fans and PPV buys. Lets not delude ourselves here though, its not going to happen. 2 different sports, and even if Mayweather is a friend of Cuban's, some talk between a couple of buddies means nothing once the manager's accountant's, and lawyers shake their fingers at the whole proposition

There's no way this is gonna happen.

The only thing anyone needs to look at is the massive disparity in earnings. PBF likes his paycheck too much.

he would have to change his whole style, a traditional boxing stance leaves his leg wide open for leg kicks all day long, and when your no trained to take those....it only takes a couple to take your leg out.....there goes any stand-up advantage he would have...cause if you cant push off...you have no power...

I would like to see him come in and fight Swanson or Pulver...but since they are WEC (Zuffa) fighters...I doubt they can stray from thier org. ..... so I dont really know who HDNET could put him up against....

Im pretty sure this is just a way of Mayweather using his name to help Cuban out in making HDNet Fights a top org.

I would rather see Floyd stick to boxing....MMA would do nothing but hurt him(2 kind of ways)...Floyd is too gifted of a boxer to join a MMA org and risk breaking an arm or getting seriously injured......MMA is really like poker...It involved a certain about of luck cuz 1 punch can pretty much end it...I dont even think i have seen a "GREAT" MMA fighter that has never been cut.

So i think Floyd should stick to what he is great at and help keep boxing on the map....at least for casual fans..Im sure that true boxing fans know the sport is doing great!

Mayweather/Cotto intrests me alot more than Mayweather vs any MMA fighter.

why would any top or mid tier boxer consider mma? it is one thing when you are old and want to pick up a small paycheck ala ray mercer, but someone who can make 20-50 million a fight isnt gonna fight for 100k. even if they signed the most lucrative fight contract ever and got 1 mil per fight its not even close. no one want to prove they are a tough guy that badly.

Mayweather will never fight in mma looks like he is gonna do what de la hoya did and start promoting fights and wait for the next contender.Mark cuban prob started these rumours for some exposure

No way Cuban's paying Floyd $30 million to fight. Even the best MMA guys don't even make $3 million total per fight (Randy & Fedor). Although I'd like to see Mayweather fight and lose badly so he'll shut up and hopefully the other boxers stop dissing MMA so much.

It is just sad because it will hurt MMA in the long run. I guarantee they won't give Floyd any top level competition. So boxing fans and casual fans of both sports watch and see Floyd dominate in a few MMA fights. Then in their minds, and likely the mainstream media, it will legitimize their claims that MMA fighters are not athletes and boxers are superior.

Just watch, he will only fight standup fighters with no ground game and no clinch game.

If JZ hasn't trained for Aoki, maby mark cuban could put Floyd in there against him. lol.

I think he weighs 140 sumthin doesn't he? .... so i doubt he will come to UFC, he wouldn't be able to take din thomas, sherk, penn, stevenson, huerta, edgar, or guida.. none of those guys, and he is going to be way to expensive for dana... I hope he goes to WEC or something, if he comes to UFC, no doubt in my mind he is going to get destroyed...
