why is there a rule against hitting the back of the head? i dont see how that can cause worse injuries than getting smashed in the face

It's way more dangerous. I think it has something to do with that the nerve central is in the back of the head or something like that. You can cause serious serious damage by striking someone in the back of the head.

Yes, I think it can cause paraylsis relatively easily.

It probably has something to do with the brainstem being back there... It seems like a really soft spot... You aren't going to look much worse because of it (like being punched in the face), but internally it can f you up pretty bad

Not only is the Medulla at the back of the skull, the most important part of teh brain, the spinal column nerve chord can be damaged, and the spinal bone column can be separated from the skull by a strike to it, which can be fatal.

back of the head is a bad hit, hit yourself in the front then the back you will know why then
