Does anyone else want to see Mark Hunt in the UFC, that guy has a head of stone and an iron chin, he could possibly be a threat

I do. I'd like to see Mirko avenge the loss, but more then that, I want him to demolish AA.

Thats the only thing he has. He's technically really not that good, without his chin he's nothing.

And yes, for that reason he's always a threat. Vs AA would be great!

I wouldn't mind seeing him in the Octagon, but there are people I'd rather see fight before him.

demolish AA are we talkin about the pitbull here.Everyone thinks he is no good now i mean yeah he has fallin of his game a little bit now, but he can be back to superman as soon as he gets his confidence back.As far as Mark Hunt goes i mean he kind of just a swing for the fences and i would like to see him in the ufc but i dont hink he would fair well i think Arloski,Vera,Crocop,Nog,Couture,Gonzaga would all beat him.

AA has never impressed me. I don't think beating tim 1 out of 3, werdum, and cabbage is being "superman". Hunt is a swing for the fence kind of guy, but thats ok since he can take the beatings he gets when he swings and misses.

I seriously think he would be a huge threat IF he lost weight

AA would run circles around hunt just picking him apart.

Im sorry, but there is more to Hunt than his chin, I consider his speed (fast for a huge man like him), his accuracy and his incredibly heavy hands as other things that make him a "threat".

If Mark lost the weight to get to the UFC, he could have some awesome fights, AA for one wouldnt last against him imo.

And as for "Cro Cop avenging his loss", Cro Cop and Hunt are 1-1 you know

He might have to cut off both of his legs to make 165

Run circles around him like CroCop did at Shockwave in '05?

mark Hunt is a proffesional kickboxer that has a K-1 GP under his belt... I like AA too, but you are not giving credit where credit is due...

AA has two maybe three wins against "pure" (using that term losely) strikers... Tim (which he lost the last two), Buentello (which he wasn't looking good in until he caught him with that wicked right), and Zentsov (a little too early in both their careers to tell)...

Now Hunt has fought LeBanner, Hoost, Filho, Sefo, Leko, Goodridge... Those are just the strikers that he's fought in K-1... He's also fought Yoshida, Wandy, CC, TK, Barney, and Fedor in Pride...

If you look past wins and losses, and see who's fought the better competition both in the standup and MMA realms, it's difficult to see why you'd right off Hunt so quickly

Hey LHK all cro cop has is striking and notthing else,if it goes to the ground he gets pounded, for example gonzaga or fedor(i dont know how anybody could say that was a close fight, fedor destroyed cro cop) but anyways yes i would love to see mark hunt in the ufc

I'd love to see Hunt in the UFC, but I guess no one knows if he can make 265. Sherdog lists him at 250 lbs, but I think that's generous. Pride FC's site lists him at 290, which sounds more likely to me.

I agree. In his fight against Fedor, you could see his ground skills had improved, and he knocked Wanderlei Silva around.

He weighed in at 293lbs before the Fedor fight, but he has weighed in as light as 270lb before, so he probably didnt cut weight then (before the 270lb weigh in) because with the unlimited weight limit of the Pride HW and the K-1 SuperHW division, there was simply no need. I think if he got himself down to that weight again, he could easily cut 10lbs and come in at 262 or so.

I disagree, he's got a crazy GnP if it goes there. I'm not sure about you but if I had to accel in one ma, I'd pick striking. Also i'm tired of ppl brining up the gg fight, the only thing thats relevent is the kongo fight and that hasn't happend yet. As for the 1-1 record, I know but one was in K-1, so we'll say avenge his mma loss. IMHO Hunt would crush AA. It's not like AA can hurt Mark, unless he can punch harder then Mirko can kick(doubtful), and Mark doesn't fight like big tim, being all scared, if AA ran away like he's been doing Mark would chase. I think it would be a round 2 KO.

Don't think Hunt is going to see 265 again. He's gotten progressively heavier and heavier throughout his career. A realistic goal woudl be to bring him into EliteXC and have him fight Antonio Silva or the gulity-pleasure match they tried to set up with Pride for him and Butterbean to go at it.

Yeah, that's why Fedor subbed/TKOd him! And CC always gets subbed, just check his record. He has no ground game, excellent, well backed up opinion.

And who destroyed who?

Fedor did look alot worse after that fight. Lucky they don't judge who won by the look of their faces.

If Mark Hunt was given more time to shine, he could have easily made it to the top 5 heavyweights. I don't see him making 265 (anything is possible, if Sylvia can, so can Hunt), but I wish he did so he could really show off his skills. I think a man built like him would be made for the cage.

If he can get in the cage, last I heard he was growing his hair out so he can pair up with Umaga

Lucky for who? They DO judge based on damage. Just because it looked like Fedor was dishing out a lot of damage doesn't mean he was actually doing any.

They judge based on the shots that are thrown, not on the physiology of the fighter receiving them. A guy like Arturo Gatti would have lost every decision if they judged based on visible damage.

Watch the fight- at the end -Fedor was cut and bleeding but full of energy and moving forward with his attack. Cro-cop was uncut but winded, discouraged and unable to fight back effectivelty.

They do judge based on actual damage caused by the striking, but they dont rely to heavily on it, and most of the time it doesnt really factor. This is because some fighters have iron faces, and others, like Igor Vovchanchyn, get cut and bruised from even light punches, so its not really fair to judge all cuts and bruises as real damage.

Ground control and aggressiveness is why Fedor was awarded the decision. He controlled the pace of the fight. He took more damage then CC though.
