Mark Coleman Wants Randy Couture?

In a recent phone interview from Japan, former UFC and PRIDE grand Prix Champion Mark Coleman was asked who he would want to face next in MMA, and his answer eventually was Randy Couture.

Not a big surprise there, would likely be a great fight and Coleman seems to look at it as being a great accomplishment at this point in his career.

Zuffas pockets are deep enough.. if he wants to sign, why not?

He hasn't earned it, and I doubt that he ever would. I'd expect him to lose to Arlovski, Vera, Nogueira, and Gonzaga, just off the top of my head. Sylvia, Herring, Mir and Kongo too, maybe. If Coleman wants to get in line, I'd say give him a shot, let him fight somebody like Jake O'Brien or Fabricio Werdum.

What a joke!!!!! Coleman is a big strong guy, but not even close to being as well rounded as he needs to be to fight and compete in the UFC...

yeah i 'm gonna go ahead and say he wouldnt last long... could be a good fight... when/if it happened randy(now) VS coleman(prime)..

but even then i dont see it being anym ore than a big named fight.

this isnt gonna happen, although i am a big fan of mark coleman, he is just not good enough to even think about couture. have him start out at the bottom of the food chain and pit him against jake o'brien like AchillesHeel said. HW is so stacked right now, im not even sure fedor even deserves an automatic title shot with all of the HW talent, and if fedor shouldnt get a title shot off the bat, then why should coleman even entertain the thought

i never meant that i thought that you said that was gonna happen, i was just going off of his comments that he wanted couture. haha sorry for the misunderstanding

Randy would dominate Coleman. He's too fast and a better wrestler IMO. If he got Coleman on the fence I think the fight would go Randy's way just like any other fight. He's too smart a fighter.

Is Coleman serious?!?!?.........Coture would kill him.along with the other top 20 UFC HW. Really he is old, but big. his only asset is his strength. i mean even Werdum or O'brian, or Assurario(sp) Silva i think would beat him handily

Coleman was an olympic wrestler, randy was an alternate...how do you figure? I think randy wins via coleman having a heart attack.

And I want to **** Adriana Lima, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Coleman was an olympic wrestler and Randy was an alternate. They have the same amount of goodness in there hands which their hands are both decent. Te only thing Randy has on Coleman is cardio. I'd take Coleman by stoppage because Coleman can throw wild and catch randy or take him down and ground and pond. No way Colemans going against the cage in the grecco clinch because he'll be shooting in all 5 5 minute rounds gased or not...

and you would be crazy to think that coleman would beat couture. you have decent reasons behind your statement, but couture would beat coleman in the later rounds without a doubt if he doesnt KO him in the second after a round of dirty boxing and some superior mma skills. just because coleman was an olympic wrestler doesnt mean his wrestling is better than couture's when it comes to mma. i believe couture uses his wrestling more effectively and wiser than coleman does and it would definitely show if they ever versed each other. you are entitled to your opinion, but i think it is insane.
