Machida vs Sokoudjou

Do you think sokoudjou can shock the world one more time or not?

Got a decent track record against Brazilians... But hasn't faced a striker since Glover...

If he wins this fight, he'll have a much tougher time then the Lil Nog and Arona fights... For me it'll be good to see his chin tested, and I think Lyo will be able to do that...

Should be a great fight, but I think Machida takes it UD

sokoudjou is really good in a ring where strikers and BJJ guys have the advantage. He can pinpoint and explode going for the knockout in a Roy Jones jr sort of way, like Gome.
The Machida fight is about the best fight they could have given him but winning will depend on his composure and ground ability to finish.

Lyoto Machida by decision or knockout (mid to late)

i say lyoto takes this by KO...but chances are he wins by UD....

Let's not forget that Soukoudjou was a champion judoka before he started MMA, and he trains at Team Quest (e.g. with Matt Lindland and Dan Henderson). He's no joke in the clinch or on the ground.





Machida's best chance is probably to stay on his feet, avoid the power-shots, and hang on for the Decision like he always does. I'm picking Sokou to put an end to Machida Madness.

I hope this fight does stay standing... I'm sticking to my guns and saying that Soko will be in a different world now that he's fighting a striker in Machida... This is a test that I think Sokoudjou needs in order (at least for me) to confidently place him in the upper echelon of LHW fighters...

in a recent interview, soko said he feels more comfortable in a cage rather than a ring.

should be a good fight for both fighters, it could really go either way....this fight has me torn..and I dont know how to pick...PLUS i have to work that night until 1100 which sucks...

But I went with Sokodojou by round 2 TKO/KO .. It hink the first round will be pretty even with both fighters landing some shots...maybe a take down from MAchida...but SOko will get back up pretty quick...

then I see SOkodojou getting in close on Machida and dropping him within the first 2 minutes of round 2, and following up with a shot or two on the ground and it will be stopped

BINGO Way too technical. He'll spend 15 mins taking him apart if he has to. We've never seen Soko tested that way. I could be wrong but I think we'll see his limits tested by a guy who has already shown he can keep his head about him (and conditioning) to the end.

i appreciate lyoto's technical strikes and talent but get upset that he sems satisfied with decisions. somethings gotta break in this one and i think its gonna be machida's nose

Will you still be happy if they have a 3 rd dec that Machida clearly wins?
I will. I'd love to see that Sok has the conditioning and skill to match Machida, but I don't think anyone knows if that's realistic because of the extremes his fights have been so far. Lyoto has shown the ability to beat up anyone for a fight, he might have few ko's but it's not like he's only ko'd nobodies. I wanna see him do it again and show the UFC fans that he really is all that.

yes i will be happy bc i love good fights and if it is a good fight then props goes to whoever wins it, if its a boring unanimous decision that machida wins, i will give him props for beating a well skilled and trained fighter, but upset that he bored me to death once again
i am not a new mma fan that needs a ko to be satisfied, but i like to see a killer instinct in a fighter whether its constantly trying to submit your opponent or going non stop to try and win the last rd when u know it will be put in the hands of the judges and u need it to win
make sense?
