Dont know if you notice, but Lionsgate has come out with some great stuff hitting big with the SAW series. They made Crank and War which both were great movies in my eyes and they just finished the Killpoint show on spike. I just saw some previews for a romantic comedy too qwith Jessica Alba and it doesnt look to bad either. Anyone else liking this company and if not, what directors or film company do you like and why?

I also like Director Tony Scott, he did Man on Fire, Domino, and De Ja Vu. Hes very good with his style in film and I cant wait to see what he does next.

I don't really pay attention to studios, but here are some of my favorite directors:

Ridley Scott: Alien, Blade Runner, Black Rain, Thelma & Louise, Gladiator, Matchstick Men. Heck, I even thought G.I. Jane was pretty watchable.

Wong Kar Wai: As Tears Go By, Days of Being Wild, Chungking Express, Fallen Angels, In the Mood for Love, 2046.

Stephen Frears: My Beautiful Laundrette, Prick Up Your Ears, Sammy and Rosie Get Laid, Dangerous Liaisons, The Grifters, The Snapper, The Van, High Fidelity, Dirty Pretty Things.

David Cronenberg: Videodrome, The Dead Zone, The Fly, Dead Ringers, Naked Lunch, Crash, Spider, A History of Violence.

James Cameron: The Terminator, Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2, True Lies.

Peter Weir: Gallipoli, The Year of Living Dangerously, Witness, Dead Poets Society, Master and Commander.

Christopher Nolan: Following, Memento, the remake of Insomnia, Batman Begins.

Gus Van Sant: Drugstore Cowboy, My Own Private Idaho, To Die For, Good Will Hunting, Finding Forrester. I haven't seen Elephant yet.

Guillermo del Toro: Mimic, Blade II, Hellboy, Pan's Labyrinth.

Terry Gilliam: Time Bandits, Brazil, The Adventures of Baron Munchausen, The Fisher King, Twelve Monkeys, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I haven't seen The Brothers Grimm or Tideland, but they're both in my Netflix queue.

Jim Sheridan: In the Name of the Father, The Boxer, In America.

Paul Thomas Anderson: Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punch-Drunk Love.

Wes Anderson: Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tennenbaums. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou is somewhere in my Netflix queue.

Steven Spielberg: Christ, can I even list them all? Jaws, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T., Empire of the Sun, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Saving Pvt. Ryan, A.I., Munich.

Steven Soderbergh: Sex, Lies, and Videotape, Out of Sight, The Limey, Erin Brockovich, Traffic, Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve.

Joel & Ethan Coen: Raising Arizona, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, O Brother, Where Art Thou?. I'm way behind on them. Still lots to see.

Pedro Almodovar, Todd Haynes, Quentin Tarantino, Michael Winterbottom, Spike Jonze, Ang Lee, David Fincher, David Lynch, Hayao Miyazaki, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Kathryn Bigelow...

I don't care much for Lionsgate, although props to them for putting out these UFC Classics DVDs (I picked up UFC 5 & 6 recently).
