Lay and pray does deserve credit. The last two guys he fought are both jiu jitsu specialists, go try and hold a jiu jitsu black belt on the mat for 25 minutes. Just because its not as entertaining doesn't mean it is easy.

Never said it was easy but when it's entertainment I like more excitment. I think people should factor in excitment when making rankings. Sherks good at laying on people....so are hookers.

Mach Sakurai Roger Huerta Kenny Florian belong there.

Florian and Huerta both don't belong on there, neither of them have beat top 10 guys

First of all NO , when you ranked fighters on whos the best , excitement should not be a facter and to the other guy who says that its stupid to say sherk should be number one or two because of beating florian and franca you must be kidding when youve done great things at a bigger weight it dosent disappear when you DROP class , in 35 fights he has only lost to hugues and gsp the greatest in the ww division . he defeated two times karo parisyan wake up man

Anyone with a head on his shoulders doing rankings in either boxing or MMA knows that you rank fighters according to what they've done in the weight class they compete in.
Sherk may be ranked in the 170 division also but that is totally seperate from his 155 placement.

It's funny that you set up rules for someone elses rankings and tell them they can't factor in excitement (which I agree about) but then you disregard one of the most obvious rules ever used in legitimate rankings.

Why? If there are two fighters with near equal wins, competetion ect. I am going to rank the more exciting fighter higher. If I want to see decisions i'll watch boxing. I see lay and pray as an inability to finish fights, that to me deserves a lower ranking.

Werd bro, werd.

Sherk is 32-2-1 with 34% of his fights ending in a decision. While Filho is 15-0 with 46% of his fights ending in a decision. People end up, for whatever reason, liking a fighter or diliking a fighter and they will dog on and make up excuses for the other.

It's not that I like a dislike people, I just don't think sherk deserves all the credit in the world. He's up for steroids, he's just lay's and takes people down, and at light weight he doesn't have a ton of fight(haha). So why does he deserve to be higher if he's fought in the UFC's admitedly weakest div, when there are people in K-1(much better LW div) fighting? Since I feel it's a sport and entertainment, I feel entertainment should in turn represent a portion of their rating.

bj hasnt fought at light weight since pulver in 3 years he shudnt be number 1 i think gomi shud be 1

BJ doesn't have a "ton of fights" at lightweight, but you have him as number 1. He fought Jens this time at lightweight and then you have to go all the way back to his fight with Caol Uno for his last lightweight fight. I'm just trying to fighure out where you'e coming from

I would have him high on my WW list to but he's said to be going back to LW, and will be fighting for the title in november. Sherk is facing a suspension, most likely did steroids and got caught at the end of his cycle, and on top of that he bores me to death...thats where I'm coming from. If I wanted to see what he does i'd go watch high school wrestling.

Gomi is strait wack that fool has no conditioning and kid would **** him up.I said if Condit drops and i watch many organazations but the problem is those guys cant really be ranked because they have no real compitition.
