Liddell Ready To Welcome Silva Back To UFC

No one was more excited by the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s official announcement that Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva would finally fight at UFC 79 on Dec. 29 in Las Vegas than Liddell himself.


"I'm very excited," the former light heavyweight champion told MMAWeekly.com. “I've been waiting for this fight for a long, long time.”


The bout has been years in the making and many believed it would never happen, including Liddell, "I thought that for a long time. I've always said I'll be surprised when it does (happen), but I'm happily surprised now and I can't wait until we get there."


Now that the bout agreements have been signed and the fight is official, Dec. 29 cannot come soon enough for Liddell.

"Is the one punch wonder finally over the hill? id say the same if wandy lost except because a ton of american fans havnt seen wandy so dana will make him fight a couple more times win or lose to run out the contract.

I have been waiting for this one so long, its like I still cant believe its actually gonna happen.

I'm a big Liddell fan but id be suprised if he won this fight.......He just doesnt have that look in his eye when he is fighting anymore, but with that said i'll still be rooting for him........GO CHUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chuck in 1. Chuck has to get his shit together and I think he will. Silva has been knocked out ugly two fights in a row so let's make it three.

this is a dream fight for the stand up fans. im more in to sub fighting speaking of witch do we get to pick ADCC fights too?

chuck got knocked out "ugly" against rampage and he lost pretty decisively to Jardine of all people. wand on the other hand fell pray to a crocop LHK. and dan looked so freakin good in there. the fight was awesom. both gave it all they had in a back and forth battle and then out comes dan with a crazy spinning back fist shortly after landing the always dangerous overhand right and smashed em as he hit the ground. no comparison to the sloppy tactics of the one punch wonder. not to mention liddell went dont hard to quinton and dan gave him a fight of a life time.

Plus everyone whos been training over at xtreme couture has looked very good lately

One punch wonder. Give me a break. One punch from one of the most talented counter-punchers in the sport is all it takes. It's not as if their lucky punches. He reads his opponent.....waits.....throws.....and lands a perfectly timed punch, right on the money.
