Apparently, Chris Leben (16-4 MMA, 6-3 UFC) was willing to fight — just not against Mike Swick.

I think it depends...honestly.

Martin is OBVIOUSLY a stronger/better striker than Swick....but Swick has more explosive power and is much faster than Martin. Leben v Swick = Swick presses Leben constantly with quick shots/combos and most likely overwhelms him for a tko or flash ko. Leben being more of a counter-puncher/laid-back striker means that he might have opportunities to ko Swick, and obviously he can ko Swick.

Martin v Leben = two guys who will just stand in front of each other trading shots until one of them is KO'd. Martin has (probably) more chance of KOing Leben than Swick would....but he has more chance of getting KO'd by Leben than Swick would as well.

They are both bad fights for Leben imo....and I'm not really sure why he would duck Swick and take Martin...but apparently he believes (like I do) that he has a better shot at KOing Martin than he does Swick.



Martin 1st round brutal KO imo

Depends on which Leben shows up, hes looked a bit overweight and unmotivated in his last few fights (much like Mir)

maybe its because Leben sucks did anyone ever think that? lol

Leben has the tools to do real well..... in the IFL.

what terry should do is take leben down and pound him, but he has a good chnce of Kocking out leben, wich ever way i see martin is the winner...but i never count out a fighter

I think he took this fight over Swick because he knows that Swick would destroy him and he probably believes that he could beat Martin.

Man. I'm not a fan of either fighters... I guess I want Leben to win, but Martin is probably going to knock him out. Leben, straight up, came out looking like a sloppy amateur ever since his Jason McDonald loss.

Martin's going to KO him, and the little bastard is going to call out Silva again.

Seriously. He can't claim injury...cause he's freaking FIGHTING on the same card. Running like a bunny...he would have at -least- retained a modicum of respect if he had just fought Swick & gotten his arse kicked...now he just proves himself to be the mouthy punk everyone pretty much knew he was to begin with.
