Does anyone think that he'll get into mma? around here (my neck of the woods) he's a local legend and I like him but I still think he's nothin more than a mouth piece on this subject. He goes on radio and talks about it, but I think it's time to put up or shut up.

Well considering he's not getting any younger and has already been beaten up from wrestling. I dont see it happening ever. Dana offered him a contract train for 1 full year and then come fight. Kurt is a cocky guy, saying he could take out mma guys. Just dont think he could make the transition as his age.

asfar as wrestling and submissions go i think he would do very well but any sort of stand up or ground and pound i think he would lack in

no I don't think he would stand a chance. I mean he is gettin old, has a bad neck. I mean the guy has never taken a real punch. I mean I have alot of friends that are pro wrestlers in wwe or have been in wwe, and they are legit athletes and take alot of punishment. but its not the same. Kurt is never gonna fight mma though he is just runnin his mouth because he realizes he's almost done with wrestling and hes goin through some mid life s$%* or somethin lol

With his background, I would say he would do ok. He needs to hook up with Randy and the rest of team quest.

It would be funny to see him in UFC he would get knocked out cause I don't think he can box or kickbox I Mean WWE TNA is all fake I doubt his mouth is acculy like that lol but yea I could see him winning a fight or two but he would lose a lot more because of his age

Putting aside whether he could beat people, let's look at the business aspect:
* He is well-paid and famous now (probably moreso than any MMA fighter) and he would be going into an even more dangerous sport...basically he's going to cost a lot of money to fight. You can forget about small shows for that reason alone.
* At 39 years old, even with a healthy body,he's nearing the end of his competitive sports career, so what is the point of training for several years and building fight experience when your body won't be ready to perform by the time your skill level has caught up
* Neither of those items would prevent him from working out a special, high-paying one-time fight deal with Mark Cuban or Dana White against a high profile opponent. But if he loses his fight (look at Karam Gabar Ibrahim if you don't think that could happen), then not only is his marketabiliy as an MMA fighter over, but his marketability as a professional wrestler is seriously diminished
It makes no business sense for him to go into MMA. His pro-wrestling persona is the "legit tough guy" and occasional speeches about what he would do to MMA fighters scattered in with speeches about what he already did to amateur wrestlers, helps build that reputation. That's his job and he's good at it. You'll never see it amount to an actual MMA career, however.

He'd have to stop taking all the 'roids..!!
He'd get killed in the cage. All's he has is his wrestling, knows no Jiu-Jitsu, he'd would'nt have a chance. Too old, too many injuries, and is an arrogant a-hole who is full of sh*t. I'd love to see him step into the ring/cage and get knocked the f-out.

I agree and disagree. I agree that he has no boxing and kick boxing.
but pro wrestling isn't fake. I mean the punches and kicks are, and the guys aren't really out there to hurt each other. but I have friends that are wwe and tna wrestlers and friends that are gettin into the business, and I've seen them get hurt and beat up many times. You have to talented and a good athlete to be a good pro wrestler. it isn't fake because when you take those moves and slams, Hell yeah it hurts bad. thats why alot of wrestlers are in bad shape when they retire and thats one of the reasons they take steriods so much. because they are constantly injured and have no chance to take time off and heal. Its much different from mma but its not fake, more like Planned out.

His wrestling is so dominate alls he would have to do is learn a little bit of ground and pound and he would smash on people.

I think this topic is irrelevant now because of his neck and back surgeries, but lets actually look at this with a blind eye to the WWE sideshow that people always seem to rag on.
If he joined the UFC in lets say 2000 I think he could have whipped some major ass. Fighters were still fairly one dimensional at the time and he would be one of few, if not the only Olympic gold medalist at wrestling. We always talk about the impressive wrestling credentials of Kos and Hughes, but this guy actually won a gold medal on the world stage (with a really banged up neck).
I think he probably would have been a champion in the UFC back then to be honest, I could see his career being very similar to that of Ken Shamrocks. A one-dimensional figher that was so strong in his one aspect he would dominate people with what he was good at.
But this topic is about 8 years too late, and he is about 8 years to old to even think about it. He would have had tremendous success I believe, but now he would get schooled by most fighters.
He still wants in, and I only see it happening under 2 conditions: Brock Lesnar signs with UFC, and Angle gets a one-fight deal and it's against Lesnar. That seems to be what both of them really want.

I;m near pittsburgh too and i doubt he will unless brock does extremely good (which isnt going to happen). You have to be dedicated to be in mma and hes jsut getting to old to just begin learning bbj and striking to be a contender in whatever weight class he would be in. He does look alot like Frank Trigg though so maybe Matt Hughes could beat the crap out of him.

Ok then "pro wrestling isnt fake", meaning they do get hurt time to time. Unfortanetly that is what it takes to be a MMA fighter, it also takes "S-K-I-L-L" which takes years to delevop with most people. So you can live in your world where you pride in saying pro wrestlers are actual fighters when they're really human punching bags (from what you wrote.) Next thing people like you will be saying is the F5 is a real move that would be devastating in MMA. And for the ppl who just agreed with that, no it wouldnt.

I don't know what you mean by people like me. because I'm a bigger mma fan than I am a wrestling fan. and I don't know where I said that prowrestlers were actual fighters, I said they were good athletes (not fighters so get your shit straight next time). And oh yeah let me tell ya Brock is gonna come in and dominate with that f5! couture has no chance in hell to survive it.

oh and I doubt he would ever fight matt hughes seeing as Kurt is about 60 pounds more than hughes. and he looks nothing like trigg
