Kimbo VS Tank at CFFC 6?

have been hearing rumors about Tank Abbott being Kimbo's next opponent after he destroyed Ray Mercer. have seen video of the PPV and Tank did come in and challenge him, but as for the two actually hooking up, I havent heard a confirm/deny from anyone on that one. if it does indeed happen, it would have to be at CFFC 6, which is appropriately titled "Heavy Hands".

This match is happening. I don't have a source here right now but it is happening. They announced it after the Mercer fight.

Kimbo will knock tank out quickly.

This fight is not by any means official, they did not announce it after the Mercer fight on the PPV that I watched. They hyped it up, tank was there and Kimbo did call him out, but there has been no official announcement that I have seen. THat could have just been Kimbo seeing Tank and calling him out, but we do know one thing, Tank will fight anyone at anytime. That all being said, I pray to god that this one does happen, I think that Abbot is the exact thing Kimbo needs as a measure of himself in MMA. The Mercer fight showed me that Kimbo is serious about this MMA thing, but it didn't really prove anything except that he has trained and is more than just a brawler, bc taking a washed up old pro boxer down isn't very tough in the MMA world. I hope CFFC announces something official soon.

If it does indeed happen, I would have to say its going to be one hell of a stand up war. From all the Kimbo videos I have seen, the man can both take and deliver a punch. And we all know how Tank loves to throw the hands...

There is a uge height advantage between Kimbo and Tank, so that means Kimo's reach will be more than Tanks. But I think Tank has much more expierence and has fought alot of better fighters, but Tank is washed up himself so I say Kimbo wins via round 1 knockout.

Agreed.

Though no announcement has been made, the boss of CFFC was on the commentating table after the fight, and he said that CFFC would "Do everything we have to to make this fight happen", and both Kimbo and Tank looked ready to fight.

Kimbo by choke. His record is gonna look like he's a sub guy after a couple more of these.

Kimbo is a smart cat. I think he'll end up trying to take Tank down and not risk exchanging with him in standup.

I Like him, and i hope he does well, but he only ever used to fight drunken bums on the street didn't he.

I think Tank has too much experience for Kimbo to fight for his second pro fight. He should fight someone that will test him, but give him more experience while maintaining his undefeated record. I think that Tank is too big of a step at this point. IMO Kimbo beating Tank will not improve his career as much as losing to him will hurt it.

That being said, Bas Rutten in your corner can’t hurt. Because of the trainer he chose, I believe Kimbo is taking MMA very seriously and I hope he wins.

Yeah, Kimbo can take a punch. But can he take a Tank punch? That's a different question.

I was impressed that Kimbo has taken MMA seriously. But if Tank trains for more than 4 1/2 minutes instead of his usual "barstool to the cage" attitude" I give the edge to Tank

i cant really see that guy (who, like was said before) is washed up defeating and up and comer. if kimbo is really hungry for it, he will roll thru tank and get some credit.

he needs to be tested, hes not getting any younger either, and the mma game is flooded with new talent. i say go for the big matchup, earn some recognition, and prove you are more than a youtube phenom (who knows what will happen if kimbo wins).

Tank apparently wanted to meet Kimbo in the parking lot but Kimbo(wisely) refused. LOL

My money is on Kimbo for a sanctioned bout. Especially if Bas continues to gameplan with him.

i say Kimbo wins by sub... Kimbo is heavyhanded but he killed mercer with the choke!

Can this be enough said: Tank has 3 wins in 10 yrs and a whole lotta losses in between. Mind you he'd still bludgeon me but @ 42? It's all about the hype. Picture this if you will: Next fight is Kimbo Vs. Bob Sapp . That pay-per-view would be 10X more popular (not interesting just popular). It's all about the names. I think Kimbo will do exactly the same thing he did against Mercer.
Run across the ring hit him once, clinch, takedown, submission.
I can't tell which is worse, Tank's submission defense or his takedown defense.
But both will probably be exploited if Kimbo has Bas teaching him anything.

I agree.
I am a fan of Kimbo, and have been a fan of Tank since his early days at UFC. If Tank Abbott would actually train for this fight, and this fight stays standing up, I would give it to Tank.
BUT, it is about a 25% chance of that actually happening.
Mercer was washed up, Tank might be a little washed up, but nonetheless has experience in MMA.
Also, I do think Kimbo is a bit hyped up, so this will be a good test for him.
It should be good, and brutal if they stay standing up.

Kimbo is a pussy he said he was gunna stand with mercer and put him in a choke because he knew he was going to get knocked out, and when he fights Tank he's gunna know what it like to fight a real MMA fighter that's gunna knock him the F*** out easily.

I think it will be a good fight but kimbo will probably win.
