Jose Aldo NOT Guaranteed WEC Featherweight Title Shot

Despite an 8-fight winning streak including 5 straight in WEC and an impressive 8 second win over Cub Swanson at WEC 41, unofficial #1 contender Jose Aldo is not guaranteed a shot at WEC Featherweight Champion Mike Brown yet according to WEC GM Reed Harris. Harris says it's ultimately up to WEC matchmaker John Shelby.

The only other guy I can think of that could even be considered right now is perhaps Wagnney Fabiano. Also on an 8-fight win streak, 2-0 in WEC. So perhaps there's a chance of Aldo-Fabiano with the winner being next for Brown.

You've got to remember Grispi also. So you have 3 solid contenders for that belt. Aldo, Fabiano, and Grispi. But I think Aldo is the most deserved of the title shot.

Aldo is by far the next best in my opinion!!!

Aldo should be guaranteed a title shot, if Fabiano or Grispi get a shot before Aldo everyone should riot. Aldo 5-0 in the WEC and just tearing through everyone and I think people would want to see Aldo vs Brown.

An Aldo/Fabiano fight would be great, but they are both Nova Uniao and I am almost certain those guys don't fight each other.

Aldo is only 22. That would be the only reason I could think of why you'd give him another fight before the title. He could use some more quality cage time.
But that really doesn't make since either considering what he has done to his competition. He hasn't had a competitive fight in the WEC, and some of his KO's have been ridiculous. The flying knee KO on Cub was sick. He switched knees mid-air and landed with so much power that Cub crumbled. He landed a flying switch-knee so flush that he cut Cub below and above the eye.

Give Aldo the title fight. Either he wins and becomes the champ at age 22 or he loses and learns from it. He is still very young and will only get better.

Aldo deserves his title shot damn it, what else does he have to do!

Aldo deserves the title shot even if he is 22, there should be some good fights coming up in the FW division, fabiano, faber, garcia, grispi,aldo,brown. Thats a good mix of guys, cant wait to see how it plays out.
