Jon Jones blames ‘the old man and his knee’ for the loss of UFC 151

It appears that Jon Jones has had enough and is no longer interested in shouldering any of the blame in regards to the cancellation of UFC 151. Jones responded to an upset fan on twitter last night and shed some light on who he thinks is the real culprit to blame

Get off twitter JJ thats gonna ruin your career especially if you cant ignore the BS i hope its a distraction and if he is a mental midget it may lead to a breakdown hope he dont run over any ladies with babies like rampage..

As far as I can tell Henderson, UFC, and Jones all share some blame.

Henderson injures knee and has too pull out of his contractual obligation to fight Jon Jones.

Jones signed a contract to fight Henderson, and Henderson cannot fight, so Jones pulls out of the event.

UFC (which must be aware by now of the prevalence of injuries in MMA) produces a card with too few marquee fights to support itself (as a PPV) without the LHW Championship, and so cancels the card.

I think I'm

I hope UFC gleaned some lessons from this conjuncture, for the fans' sake as well as the fighters.

i cant say i blame hendo at all he didnt choose to get hurt its unfortunate but its not a choice ....the ufc and jon jones split the blame here but more on jon imo a champion has to be always stepping up

What should be done is the UFC should put fighters on stand by...I said this before...

Tell the champ if such and such doesnt fight from injury he will face fighter B...Fighter B trains like a normal fight...The UFC pays fighter B half his fight pay if he trains for nothing...

IMO the only one to blame is the UFC....How is Jon Jones responsible for the whole card and the organization...

If Kobe Bryant and Lebron James are injured and those teams are to face each other does the NBA cancel the game....NO....

If Green Bay and the Patriots are in the Super Bowl and Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are killed in a freak accident will teh NFL cancel the Super Bowl....

Jones in no way should be blamed for this....Its the UFCs fault for having a seriously weak card....

IMO the UFC really has scheduled too many shows and spread themselves thin...I like it but many cards will be weak...

I think fighters need to get wiser...Train differently...Something has to change...

I hold more blame on the guys that get injured...I understand train as hard as u can for a title shot but draw the line somewhere...I thought it was suppose to be NO KNEES or anything crazy...Not even a full speed thing...

I disagree with a lot of the other stuff you said but this is actually a nice idea.

Injuries are ruining UFC cards left and right. Almost a third of the main events this year saw a fighter pull out due to injury.

Having a reserve system would be a good idea. They did this in the early UFCs and called them "alternates."

The UFC canned the event and thats all there is to it. Its not Jons Fault its not Dans fault. The UFC had a very weak card they quickly tried to pin it on Jon and Greg Jackson and did a damn good job. IMO they didn't need to cancle the event at all. They should have moved the FB and FX Prelims around had the co main event be the main event on FX and what would have been the original FB fights move to the back end of the card making them either free on FBG or not aired at all. Or just stand behind your card you put on and have super low PPV numbers.

Fuck I am getting tired of Jones and the excuses
It's making every fan just turn on him

I blame all 3 parties involved. Dan is less to blame than Jones or Zuffa but it wouldn't have really mattered, the UFC was so amateurish by not having a back up LH to step in on short notice instead they go to MW Chael Sonnen coming off a brutal loss and would've gotten beaten worse by Jones imo. Jon has said that Chael doesn't deserve to get beat up by him and I can't stand the guy but he's right. Do I think he should've taken the fight to save 151, yes, besides, I dislike Chael more anyway so sue me
