Just moments into the first round of the main event at the Ultimate Fighter Live finale, Jake Ellenberger cracked Martin Kampmann on the jaw with a vicious left hook.

Kampmann dropped to the mat in a flash and immediately Ellenberger swarmed looking to put him away. As the Nebraska native flurried with a barrage of punches, Kampmann grabbed at his arms to try and control the situation and regain his composure.

As close as it was to being over, Kampmann was able to eventually pull Ellenberger in his guard and keep the fight moving.

In the 2nd round the roles were reversed after Kampmann clipped Ellenberger with a short right hand that stunned him, and after three consecutive knee strikes, it was Ellenberger who crashed to the ground.

While watching the fight I thought it was too soon, but looking at the replay I saw the same thing the ref saw and they had a closer look than me.

I've heard the hair of dead people continues to grow for awhile. Could it be that Kate is the one that started the zombie apocalypse, and is just trying to blend in until their numbers grow?

9 times out of 10 thats the answer a fighter will give you. In my opinion he was done. He absolutely must do something about his gas tank but he will most likely come back stronger from this.

Sick of people complaining about the stoppage, maybe they should have allowed kampman to continue beating on him after the three consecutive knees landed. If anybody has any right to complain its ellenberger and saying "I felt like I could have gone longer but it is what it is, its martins night" doesn't sound like much of a complaint. Ref did a good job. This made for an exciting come from behind win for martin and I look forward to a bout with him and hendricks.

Kampmann reacted well and kept defending when he was dropped.
Jake covered up and didnt move, and if you watch the way his arms were entwined, he was in no position to mount a defense.

Contrary to what everyone else here seems to think I actually think it was stopped a wee bit too soon. Mazzagatti started to jump in a millisecond after the third knee landed...he didn't even wait for Jake to hit the ground. I think Mazzagatti should have allowed Kampmann to get at least two strikes in while Jake was on the ground. Jake was in trouble this was obvious but he might have done what Kampmann did in round 1....grab hold, regain his wits and continue on. I like both fighters and I am glad Kampmann won...but I think it was stopped just a little bit too soon.
