Fool's Gold Loaf

I just made a FGL and halved it with my sister. Its not too bad, not quite what I had expected either, the peanut butter and italian bread made it hard to swallow.

I had used a half loaf of italian bread instead of a full loaf. I used 1.5lbs worth of bacon as well. I am going to have to try the FGL again, only with cream cheese and strawberry preserves in place of peanut butter and grape jelly.

Anyone else had a FGL before?

Can't say that I have... Seems a little over the top for me, and I'm usually pretty adventurous when trying different foods...

Was it any good?

Yeah, it tasted great, the peanut butter made it a little dry though. It was only my first try. I've already thought of a few ways I could combat the dryness next time;

less peanut butter for starters (tho next time I'm trying cream cheese instead)
split the loaf/gut the insides and coat with butter before I bake it
don't let the bacon cool down
have a glass of milk handy

Oh, hell no! Poor diet may have helped lead me to where I am today, but I wouldn't touch that thing. No wonder Elvis died on the shitter.
