I was wondering if anyone else is excited about the IFL Grand Prix. Personally, I'm excited that solid IFL talents like Ben Rothwell and Chris Horodecki will finally get to fight on a big stage. I know that a lot of people don't like the talent pool of the IFL, but I think that it's a solid league and a good idea.

I would also like to take this time to rank the top 5 fighters in the IFL, pound for pound. Feel free to disagree.

1. Ben Rothwell-I think he could compete in the UFC, maybe even for the HW title. I have him ranked as my #10 HW overall.

2. Chris Horodecki-He's young, but not many guys at 155 have as much power as he does. He just needs to learn to finish; a lot of his fights go to decision.

3. Benji Radach-The 185 division is relatively weak across MMA, but Radach is the rare guy who provides some depth. He was once a hot-shot prospect but he got injured against Chris Leben. He's 4-0 in the IFL.

4. Antoine Jaoude-With Rothwell possibly out of the GP, he's the new fave at HW. He's a world-class wrestler, and Marco Ruas is his coach, so you know he's good at BJJ. He's 3-0 in the IFL.

5. He's one of two top 155s born in Poland (Horodecki), and he also has good KO power like Horodecki. He is really experienced (37 pro fights), and holds an 8-2 IFL record.

Rothwell is out
Gusmao is out
Whitehead is out

No I'm not very excited. I wish the best for IFL and I want them to have success but without those three, this isn't much of a GP.

I think Rothwell will get killed in the UFC.

Whitehead is not a good fighter.

Gusmao was my only excitement in that card, and he's injured.

Chris Horodecki has STILL not shown a ground game even though he has great takedown defense. Liddell type fighters are not going to make it tremendously far in this game.

I'm going to see it live, so I am excited about that, but I'm not expecting a whole lot.

I think Andy Reese will win the HW GP with ease.

Hordoceki va Plascewski will be very good

Benji Radach should dominate as well as Matyushenko

But two tickets for $30 is a sweet deal, so count me in

Rothwell would NOT get killed in the UFC. There are very few guys there that would be favored heavily over him. The only guys off the top of my head I can think of are Tim Sylvia, Big Nog, and Brandon Vera.

Horodecki is a really good fighter. I'll back that up until the day that someone proves me wrong. He is a devastating striker, and that takedown defense is solid enough to avoid the ground until he gets better there. He's still only 19! He can't even drink.

There are still some fighters that have some drawing ability:
HW: Jaoude is a good figher, he'll probably win.
LHW: Schoenouer from his TUF days, Vladdy Matushenko from his UFC days,
MW: I wanna see that Benji Radach vs. Matt Horwich (if they both win semis)
WW: All 4 guys could win, but Delson Heleno and Jay Hieron are the faves.
LW: Horodecki vs. Palazewski in the semis? That'll be a good rematch. Don't forget about Gunderson.

This was an awesome event, but now almost everyone who earned their way into the GP are out because of an injury

They get injured by brawling and putting on amazing fights. There fights are amazing but they need to consider there health though...

and yes Rothwell will get beat bad in the UFC IMO...

Vera would submit him or even KO him, Even new comer Brock Lesnar would destory him with brutal GNP, Tim would beat him and outpoint him by decision. Randy would stop him, Big Nog would submit him, AA would submit or win by decision, depends which AA shows up. Heck I think IMes or Heath Herring will beat this dude...

With so many of the originally announced fighters gone, it's no longer "Grand" to me, and only "Good" to "Entertaining."
