I have an idea for a Fantasy Draft. I ran something similar to this before but as it was my first time it didnt go smoothly.

Here is how it will work, I need 12 players ( including myself). The players will be randomly decided and placed in a snake draft. Every player will have 12 hours to make there pick.

Everyone will then pick 16 fighters to take part in there own 16 man tournament. You will pick fighters from your own category which will also be decided randomly.

The categories are:

SHW and HW
HW and LHW
LHW and MW
MW and WW
WW and LW
LW and lower

So everyone will have 2 weight classes to make there Grand Prix. You can only pick a fighter who has fought at that weight class within the last 5 yrs.

You cant choose a fighter who has already been picked or who is not in one of your weight classes. If you miss your 12 hours the draft will continue and the player who missed there pick can catch up when they log back in.

2 players will be placed in each category. Once the draft has been completed you will go head to head with the player in your own category. We will then have 6 finalists.

If you would like to take part then either add your name below or PM me. If you have any questions then please ask them on this thread and I will answer them asap.

6/30/09 2:50:12PM
I am going to the draw and get this started.

The way am goin to do it is:

Have 5 categories instead of 6.

I will change the top category to SHW, HW, LHW

And once the draft is complete.

There will be 3 SF with 3 players in and then a final with the 3 winners.

i will draw the draft and give every player a no from 1 to 9. That wwill decode the draft order and who you play in SF.

The SF will be 1 v 2 v 3, 4 v 5 v 6, 7 v 8 v 9.

is this snake order?

yes it is.
7/2/09 1:39:41AM
After really taking a look at the weight classes people can pick from i think this is going to be fun.
7/2/09 2:37:45AM
how many fighters do i pick in one go is it just the one am new to this draft thing.
7/2/09 3:08:32AM
you are MW's and WW's. You get one pick per round. After this pick, since it is a "snake" draft it will go til the last person picks, and then they'll pick twice as the even numbered rounds go in reverse order. So the person with the 1st pick, goes last in the 2nd round, first in the 3rd round, last in the 4th round, etc.

If we're going to be taskmasters about drafting, 1daveufc has missed his first pick and Rabi has about 6 hours remaining.

When I run these drafts, my rule is that a person hasn't technically missed their pick until the next person takes their turn. So 1daveufc could still make his pick, as long as it's before Rabi makes his. This wouldn't "reset the clock", so if Rabi doesn't make his pick in the next 6 hours, Whardin19 can go ahead.
