“People got to hate you, this is what I learned doing the fighting sports; people are going to hate you no matter what, it don’t matter how well that you do. I’ve had a 1-second knockout and I still heard people talk crazy about how my haircut was or how awful my shorts was. People look at my measurements and just assume I’m really small and they might be right, they might be right maybe I am too small but if I punch you in the head you ain’t going to think I’m too small anymore. This fight means more to me than just going and getting a win because this is almost like a, oh you thought I couldn’t make it and now look at what I’m doing. That’s what (my) “Hype or Die” [concept] is, man just put your gloves on and swing for the fences every time or really don’t bother don’t waste your time.”

“Ninth Ward Solider” Pat Barry coming straight outta New Orleans for Antoni Hardonk at UFC 104 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles on October 24.

I like Barry in this fight, and i like Barry in general. I think his striking is very, very good, his ground however...uggh.

I see this one going like Evenson/Barry...i know Hardonk is a tough customer, but i think Barrys striking is better, technically.
Barry by TKO Late 1st or Early 2nd.

I like Barry too, although I have seen very little of him.
Also, I do feel like he definitely needs to make the move to LHW.

unless he is no longer a prepubescent girl on the ground he has severe limitations. i was on the Barry hype train when he first came to the UFC, but after seeing how poor his grappling is i don't feel the same way anymore.

I don't think he will be in MMA for very long. The guy can strike really well but like jjfreak said his groundgame is non-existent. Anyone who can put him on his back will beat him, pretty much guaranteed.

Maybe Barry can get his ground game going who knows. I do know that if he catches anyone with a punch it can be lights out in a hurry!
