Hughes VS Hardy

This is one of the match-ups that I would most like to see in the welterweight division. Personally, I would take Hardy by round 1 KO (counter left hook) but lately he hasn't been much of a finisher so I'm not sure. Let's hear what everyone else has to say about this fight!

I'd take Hughes via wrestling master class. Hardy isn't a top WW, he's just a name because he's English.
The guy is tough but I honestly don't see him as anything more than a gate keeper.

I think Hardy could do some serious striking for the UD. Yeah Hughes is a good wrestler but I think Hardy still has room to evolve as a true MMA fighter. His ground game will come around. Would be a sweet fight to watch though.

I'd say if Hardy pulled off a BJ Penn shot that knocks Hughes out, he'd have it...otherwise, I would give it to Hughes by dominant wrestling w/ sub.

At this point it's hard for me to take Hughes in most matchups. Heavy handed strikers are Matt's achilles heel, Hardy kind of fits that bill so I'd take him.

Since he entered the UFC Hardy has finished one person. I always found it intresting that Hardy had this rep for being this bad ass striker how puts people down for a nap. I think Matt would get it to the floor quick and keep it there for a UD. If Hardy were to knock Hughes out I wouldn't be shocked with the state of Matts chin of late.

Still, quite the accomplishment.

Hardy has only finished rory markham in the UFC. Im still not sold on Hardy, even though hes already fought for the title. I see Kos, Fitch, Alves, BJ, Shields beating him. Maybe even Ellenberger, Pyle, and Condit. A fight between Hughes and Hardy being a close contest at this point.

Hughes Subbed GSP in 04.... GSP Subbed Hughes in 07..... GSP couldn't sub Hardy in 10.... As people are saying, the fact that Hughes subbed is hardly the right fact to bring up, as it was over 7 years ago, and all three men have learnt and improved sub offence and defence.... Please bring more valid arguements....

Hughes's wrestling is just too good, and I have not seen enough evolution in Hardy's takedown defense or ground game to warrant any other outcome than a Hughes decision by laying on top of Hardy.
