Hose vs Baroni- A war to remember

I admit that I am not Baroni fan. To me he usually KO's someone quick , or gasses out most of the time. He also talks a lot of crap, and that never endears someone to me. However, great freaking fight this weekend! Hose deserved the win, and beat Baroni down most of the time, but I came away with a new respect for Phil. He ate a lot of shots, lasted a lot longer than I ever thought he would go in a fight , escaped a a decent sub, and went for takedowns. No more mini-Tank gameplan. I was impressed with young Hose too, even though I thought he would stop Phil a lot earlier. I was especially impressed with the shots he landed from his back early in the fight. . I had seen him fight on elite XC , and thought him a Leben type, and thats a complement. Still feel he's not the true ICON champ till he fights Lawler though . Anyway, very entertaining IMO. I probably wouldn't have watched the fight unless you mentioned it...but I'm glad I did now.

You're 100% right, he gassed, but he didn't give up. He took a pretty good beating.
He's no spring chicken, so I don't expect much out of him, but he fought hard in this one.

i agree. there were a lot of points where i would think baroni was gonna let hose hit him until the ref stepped in but he kept movin. theres no question phil has a lot of heart.
