According to MMAWeekly.com, heavyweights Gabriel Gonzaga and Ben Rothwell will meet in January. The two are slated for the Brazil card, which has yet to be confirmed by the UFC but is expected to go down January 19.

Gonzaga (13-6) returned to the UFC earlier this year, submitting Ednaldo Oliveira. He was released from the UFC in 2010. Gonzaga was expected to fight in October, but his match with Geronimo dos Santos was scrapped.

Rothwell (32-8) has alternated wins and losses in his last seven, but stopped Brendan Schaub by first round knockout this year.

Gonzaga should win this fight but Rothwell could easily knock Gonzaga out as well, very entertaining bottom of the main card fight for two former contenders who aren't going anywhere right now but are interested in building momentum.

Always have been and always will be a fan of Napao! He should take this by sub imo

Good scrap both are big boys and heavy hitters. If Gonzaga can get top position on Big Ben I can see him getting the submission but if they stand and bang I got a feeling Big Ben puts Gonzaga to sleep. This fight is going to be a hard one for me to make a pick on

Big Ben has looked pretty great lately. If GG keeps it standing, he might be the one in trouble.

WAR HONEY BADGER!

I remember after the Gilbert Yvel fight, he had some crazy injuries blew out his ACL in the first round and a Deviated Septum thanks to Yvels foot, and still fought to a DEC.

Fan for life, that guy is a Wisconsin bred TSOB!

Ben looked great in his last fight. Physically, he was in the best shape I've seen him in. Gonzaga is on the up n up, as well. His last fight was scrapped last minute so maybe he comes in over trained? Gabe, to me, has always been a safe 1st rd KO/tko pick, whether for or against. I think these two vets slug it out for longer than that.

I'm going with gonzaga by 2nd rd sub or Ben with 2nd or 3rd KO/tko

If Gonzaga takes his career at least 80% serious he can win this fight.

He can start by getting with a better camp and not waste the talent he has.
