Healy Shocks Ford, Wins MFC Title

Longtime veteran Pat Healy’s experience came in handy tonight as he overcame an extremely rough start against rising prospect Ryan Ford to surprisingly submit Ford with a third-round armbar in the main event of Maximum Fighting Championship’s latest showing at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Edmonton.
The first round saw Ford fight for a successful takedown during the beginning moments. Pinning Healy in the corner, Ford worked some ground-and-pound before Healy was able to force a scramble. Healy nearly caught Ford with an armbar but Ford was able to slip out and stand up before slamming Healy down once again just before the round’s end.

that sucked..Ford has some potential jsut needs to be a bit more cautious...but he is fun to watch and has some serious strength.

Yeah Ford is really Strong but Spratt was cheated, Ford kept on Punching him after he heard the bell and that's why I don't like him. I wanted Ryan to Win so he could Fight Fickett but now that's not a possibility

When I heard he was supposed to fight Fickett, I damn near spit out my drink. The guys got potential, but going from Pete Spratt caliber fighters to Drew Fickett would have landed him in an armbar faster the three rounds it took Healy to do it.

Or in a Rear Naked Choke, Ryan Ford's a Skater as Fickett and Hallman like to say it

I think Ford was over confident when he slammed him and this should be a good learning experience for him.I'm still really impressed with Ford and mad props to Healy for holding on and locking that armbar.I look forward to the rematch or getting Fickett back in the picture.I've watched the last two MFCs on HDNet and enjoyed the events.
