Although he did say ufc I have to agree with this from a Zuffa stand point. Although I personally think Manhoef's power is greater than Lawler's. Also I would put Alves and GSP tied for technique and Daley for power. I don't like him but he throws bombs with every single punch and has some very proven punching power.

Hmm, I guess..

Featherweight - Power: Aldo Technique: Aldo

Bantamweight - Power: Brian Bowels Technique: Tie Cruz/Torres

Let me explain BW.. If you would have asked me before Torres fought Valencia and Baneuelos, I would have immediately said Cruz, because Torres was more of a brawler and liked to give fans a show. But, now that he's been knocked out he seems more concentrated on his overall boxing, and I've seen some very high level boxing in his last two fights. I can't decide who has more technique in their striking now.

Power wise in the HW division I would personally go with Carwin. Technique wise I go with Overeem but strickly within the UFC,hmmm. That's a tough one.

LHW Power goes I think maybe to Rampage. Technique Machida for sure but Jones is closing in.

Middleweight.. Anderson Silva power and technique, but if speed is an option I give it to Vitor.

WW is tough imo because each guy has a real unique setlist in the standup department. But within the UFC technique goes to BJ (though he's LW now)
So this makes it tough because to me,the 2 most dynamic strikers lie outside of the UFC in Daley and Diaz.

Really good topic btw.

Well, I agree with a lot of them above, but my 2 favorite strikers are Junior dos Santos, and Cain Velasquez. One hell of a fight, if Brock doesnt ruin it.

-dos santos/valasquez (cant wait to see these guys swap punches. dos santos is known for striking but i think cains is on the same level.)
-rampage (not the most technical but IMO one of the most successful)
-A silva
-GSP (out struck everybody he's fought)
-edgar (great footwork and very fast)
-aldo
-cruz/faber (not sure whos the best until they fight. eddie wineland is up there for pure striking)

HW: Power goes to Carwin but technically speaking Overeem is the best striker.

LHW:Power got to Rampage but I'd say guys like Machida and Mousasi are better technically.

MW: I don't know about power, guys like Lawler and Vitor come to mind but its hard to argue against Anderson dominating bot categories in this.

WW. Power I'd probably say Daley and technique could go to Sadollah or Alves.

LW: Power and technique I'd say go easily to BJ.

Interesting topic!

I agree with every placement in each division except for two. First, most powerful puncher in the LHW division is rampage, hands down. There is either an article or video, though I'm pretty sure it is the latter of the two, floating around on the interwebs in which some people that were part of a show similar to fight science or sport science tested rampages punching power, and if I recall correctly, Rampage punches with something like 1800 pounds of pressure. To give you a comparison of punching power, Houston Alexander, who we all know punches pretty damn hard, punches with 900 pounds of pressure, and Liddell punched with something like 1000 pounds of pressure.

The second one is with the most powerful puncher in the WW division. While I do think that it is relatively close between Daley, Alves, and Anthony Johnson, I got to give the power advantage to Johnson. He has proven his KO power just as consistently as any other WW, but I think the difference is raw power. While Alves is a HUGE WW, I think Johnson one ups him in power and size, so Johnson gets most powerful puncher in the WW division in my book.

interesting topic.

Found the video in which they test Rampages punching power. Here it is.
