A groin injury suffered by UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre in his UFC 100 victory over Thiago Alves on July 11 won’t require surgery, it was announced on Saturday, with the 170-pound title-holder set to return to the gym within the next few weeks.

“Evaluation of the results of an MRI indicate that no surgery will be required, and Georges should be back in the gym training within a few weeks after a brief rehabilitation,” read the announcement.

Great then there should be no reason he should turn down the Anderson fight then. For all GSP talk about leaving his mark on MMA he should jump at the chance to prove him self against one of the top p4p fighters in the world. I mean how many times do you get to put two top p4p guys in the cage against each other. If he turns this fight down or says he needs time to gain the weight then he needs to never run his mouth about BJ again. At lest BJ took on the challenge and moved up. Right now GSP should be on Dancing with the Stars with the moves he is doing around the questions of fighting Anderson.
