Bj and GSP for fight of the century!

“Georges still has to get past Matt Serra though. I think if Georges can get past Matt Serra and I know I’m going to get past Sean Sherk, we could have some kind of really huge fight there. I’m talking about a fight of the century type of fight, but Matt Serra’s no joke, you know?

I hope to god this happens!!!
I'd give the fight to GSP though... but it'd be a war!

I would have to say I agree with Kugel. It would be a different story if they were both in the same weight class and they were actually fighting for something, but there is really nothing to gain for either fighter if they win, and a lot to lose. I would rather see 2 title fights than one "fight of the century".
Also, guys like Fitch really get the shaft if GSP is fighting Penn (from another weight class w/o having to fight anyone else in that weight class first).

And yes, this fight already happened. There are too few fights in a given year to have rematches that are not necessary for contendership.
The last fight was good, but nothing that would indicate this one would be fight of the century. I can think of at least a dozen other fights I would rather see.

I think the fight of the century will be GSP against Anderson Silva in the MW division for the belt !!

Are you Guys crazy ! yea it wont be for a title but this will do alot more for either man legacy then lets say a win over fitch or a win over florian if penn beats st pierre then his guy is with out a doubt top 3 of all time and if st pierre beats him convincingly then he redeemed himself for the 1st time being so narrow man im hoping this happens soooo bad

I wouldnt mind seeing the rematch but there are many more fights that need to happen first. There are contenders in both weightclasses that deserve their shots at the title. They shouldnt have to wait for GSP and Penn to settle a split decision.

the last fight between these two settled nothing as to who is a better fighter, that fight could have gone either way. although i thought gsp rightfully won it would have been no suprise to me that bj won because it was that close.

I would like to see it again maybe give fitch his shot then that fight. Hell if Bj wins that you know his ego would make him want to jump to 185.

If they both are holding belts and someone moved up or down in weight to fight for the other belt so someone would hold two belts at once, that would be a fight of the century.

I will admit, it would be a great fight and I would not mind seeing the rematch at all. This time it would be way bigger especially if they both have the titles in their respected weight classes. However, like others have already mentioned, a guy like finch who is deserving of a shot at the title would get shafted. This would be a great fight, but I can think of others that I would rather see. Besides Bj still has to get through Sean and it won't be as easy as most people think. To be totally honest I think Sean can and will beat Bj but we will have to wait and see.

This happened and I think it would be the worse of the two divisions to have both champions fight in. If there is a fight with two champs in the UFC, it will be GSP and Silva. They both have been the most dominate in their divisons and seem like great matchups for a war. Even Sherk vs GSP doesnt sound too interesting as they also already fought.

I think its funny though how Penn says Serra is tough and might win and then acts like his fight with Sherk is nothing. I think its the other way around and I cant wait for for fights.

Heh, I think he could excel at any division under heavyweight. Didn't he fight at 205 against Machida and take him to a decision?

I feel a rematch with Bj penn is the biggest and toughest fight possible for GSP.

Think that the new motivated BJ vs the new GSP would be an amazing fight. Two of the best all around fighters against each other how could it not be. Think a fight like this would be a better draw then GSP Silva.

The only problem is BJ is too small for GSP, GSP won their last fight, and GSP is a MUCH better fighter now, yeah Penn is not a lasy fat ass anymore but to make 170 hes got to be a fat ass. and if BJ cones into the fight "in shape" that makes him at most 160 pounds... GSP is a HUGE 170 i see GSP beating him with no questions if they got together again...

I agree with everyone saying it screws deserving fighters out of title shots.

I would not want to see this fight as long as both are champions in their respective weight classes.
