K1 Greatest Fights

Alot of people have said they haven't seen alot of K1 or know alot about it, especially the roots of it all and how it all began, this is basically a set of great articles from a really good kickboxing/mma site that lists the top ten fights of each year from when the sport first began. I'd recommend seeing as many of these fights as you can.

Thanks for posting that. I've never been as big a k-1 fan as MMA. I mostly watched fight's of people that have crossed over or what I could find on the net of after I saw some of the people fightHunt, Mirko, sapp, Schilt etc. While this led to Aerts,Hoost, Sefo etc. I am far from a efficianado on k-1. I have hever seen Mike Bernardo fight, but after reading that I'll see what I can find on the net of him

I don't care too much for K-1 but I guess it's alright. the only times I actually watch it is when Cro Cop or Sapp fights or the Grand Prix. that's about it though

I actually enjoy watching the MAX fighters more.

I like all of K-1... I've always liked watching the lower weight classes in most combat sports for the speed and the heavier classes for the power...

Buakaw has some of the most amazing kicks I've ever seen, def one of the best MT fighters I've seen (which admittidly isn't all that many) and you'd have to throw Iron Mike Zambidis onto that list, that guy can bang

Jerome Le Banner's fights are some of the greatest in K-1 history, and it goes without saying that Ernesto Hoost has made the highlight reel many times!

Andy Hug and Cro Cop fights are some of my favorites in combat sports. I also love bonjasky's fights.

I'm gonna be a little biased and say all of Buakaw Por Pramuk fights. He's so freaking unbelievable. I would love to see him in the UFC and in the spotlight in America.

Man, I would like to see Ray Sefo versus Mighty Mo, it would be a hell of a fight....!

Also have to give big props to Lebanner vs. Abidi. Jerome's head looked like it was growing another one.

Hoost vs Cro Cop 99 is a great fight, fights ended by a single body shot are rare enough, but to see Cro Cop stopped by one is still a bit shocking, just goes to show how unbelievably good Hoost was!

Thats was an awsome fight, Cro Cop dominated the first round and then took that huge liver shot. That was a crazy GP though lol, tons of great fights, Lebanners come back from an aerts hk, dominates Hoost in round one only to get KO'd in the second, Cro Cop kicking Greco's legs out. Also anyone who gets a chance watch Kloaklai Kannorsing vs Hong man Choi. I saw something I never could have imagined in that fight.

Jerome Le Banner vs Cyril Abidi is worth a watch, you can find it on dailymotion quite easily.

5 rounds of sheer hell for Abidi. I have idea how it went to the 5th round, Le Banner mauled Abidi in every round, and aside from an insignificant cut and some very nasty swelling over his right eye, Abidi did little to Le Banner. He was a moving punching bag at best. Sheer domination, but Abidi showed that when he cares (or hates his opponent enough) that his chin actually is pretty respectable. However, if you watch him fight Bonjasky, Bonjasky attacks him with half of JLB's intensity and within the first minute Abidi has already given up and lost the will to fight!
