Scientists have succeeded in breeding goats capable of producing spider silk proteins in their milk.

The research is designed to help avoid some of the difficulties involved in obtaining silk from spiders. "There's a lot of interest in spider silk fibers because they're stronger than almost any other manmade fiber and they're also elastic," says molecular biologist Randy Lewis.

I'm more perplexed with the spider-goats they splice to create armour.
