i was thinking the same thing once they showed the same ad over and over. a big event like that and only getting small companies? not what i expected

girls gone wild is definatly NOT a small company.. it's a pretty huge company in fact.. i think this year they're opening up restaurants (hooters-esque) and a clothing line

Joe francis is rich, i wouldn't call girls gone wild a small company, i doubt he could afford a 25million dollar house if it was lol, Unless the travel channel is wrong.

and plus, the target age group for ufc = 18-34 males.

i don't know what country you are from but here in the usa GGW is a piece of shit when it comes to big time companies.

I guess it's whoever will pay for that most covetted 18-35 y/o consumer's time... Lots of young men like to watch MMA, and that happens to fall in line with most of those young men also liking boobs n stuff... I would say that both the company's, like them or not, are marketing to the same age bracket.

I do have to agree that that dude is a dirtbag... But meh, the comercial breaks seemed so damn long that I would just channel surf for 10 minutes or so until the next fight

yeah the commercials were rampant and the same shit...i mean come on, GGW every two minutes and thta asian singing in the bathroom....cant we make some good old beer commercials like the old days? or something that makes sense.

Well now that the GGW pres is behind bars they need some kind of income. Besides who doesnt like naked girls going wild... ?

i'm just saying that i'm surprised with the ufc getting so much bigger lately that they couldn't have snagged some more mainstream companies. i love the GGW vids myself but it kind of made the ufc look like a second rate type of organization. where was mountain dew and slim jim( both of which target the eXtreme generation) I just think that they could have done better.

Morality? When did I judge GGW??? This is a bizarre post.

Anyway, GGW ads are cheap and not exactly indicative of an event that is attracting big advertisers. When we see Toyota buying up every ad spot, we can be relieved that the UFC is well on its way to mainstream acceptance.

On another note, I was pretty psyched to see the 28 Weeks later preview.

I guess I was just playing around a little, but posting an article about how the founder/pres/whatever is imprisoned for a laundry list of charges, gives the impression that you don't quite agree with what he does...

IMO, the UFC is on it's way to mainstream exceptance, but that takes a little time, and to ensure their profits, I would think that they would sign with the highest bidder...

28 days later was such a good movie, hopefully 28 weeks later is just as good.


BTW I Tivo'ed (DVR or w/e just like TIVO) it and skipped all the commercials
