Georges St-Pierre vs. Anderson Silva, Dana White Would Love to Do It

A Georges St-Pierre and Anderson Silva match-up has been discussed ad nauseum for years. Sometimes the biggest fights that can be made are between two fighters in different weight classes.

It’s happened before and St-Pierre was involved. B.J. Penn put his lightweight title on hold to move up to face St-Pierre at for the welterweight championship at UFC 94.

A match-up with Anderson Silva has been something St-Pierre has considered.

Andy wouldn't sign the contract to fight GSP, he would probably want to play it safe, like usual and fight Patrick Cote, again.

I'll straight drop to 170 to fight Georges. He's scared.

He should do it then. It makes more sense he's right at the end of his career. Georges still has a good number of fights left in him why mess with his body when he can cement his legacy at 170. Anderson's no easy fight it's not like he's just gonna half ass it and go fight him at 185 without properly putting on the weight

I have said it before and I will say it again.....this fight makes no sense. The real superfight should be Jones vs.Silva. Silva would kill GSP....either by knockout or tapout. I see nothing good about the matchup....now Jones vs. Silva is a different story. That fight could go either way and would probably be one of the best fights in MMA history. Personally I think Dana wants to keep Silva and Jones "pristine"....and I think he wants to sacrifice GSP in order to do it.

Im kind of shocked there still talking about this fight after all this time, just make it happen already then.

I honestly think George can beat Anderson, on the ground I believe GSP would destroy Silva. Anderson would have to KO George to win in my opinion.

I wouldn't want to see this fight until I see how GSP recovers from his knee surgery. I'd much rather see Jones vs Silva but I have a feeling that fight could be them just testing out the water and never fully going in.

I would love to see it, assuming GSP is 100% after his recovery. I'm in the GSP camp and I would take the underdog bonus points, the lopsided betting odds and include GSP in my parlay.

Here is what I think. I think GSP knows his fighting health is in jeopardy now and so it's now or never. The longer he waits, the worse his health will become. It is a shame it had to take a major injury for GSP to give the fans what they wanted.

And here's something to think about - If GSP takes this fight and loses, will there be no doubt as to who is the P4P king?

If Silva drops to 170 (or a catch weight around 175) and beats GSP, yes he is P4P. If they fight at 185 and GSP loses no, Silva just beat a smaller champ. If GSP wins at 170, 175 or 185, then GSP is hands down as he beat the bigger fighter/champ.

My concern is even if Silva beats GSP at 170 or 175, people will still have doubts as to who is the P4P king because GSP is obviously not 100%. GSP's knee surgery would make the WIN a little less significant is what I am saying.

if GSP dominates Condit like he has his previous opponents, then the injury is not an excuse anymore

Let's be honest, this fights never happening and ill be real surprised if Jones vs Silva does. Dana knows GSP vs Silva won't and since he knows that, he wants to flip the script and act like he's all for it
