I just read that Mousasi made $2,000 at strikeforce this past weekend. I think thats crap seeing as Babalu made $75,000. Is it because he is relatively unknown in the states? That shouldn't really matter, the man should get compensated for the risk he takes by stepping in to fight.

That is the official pay that was turned in to the CSAC. That doesnt include money that he most likely got from M-1 as part of his contract. Not much of his deal with Strikeforce has been made public, there is no way of telling what he got paid. I read that he went to Strikeforce when his agent told him that the UFC only offered him $40k to win and a $40k bonus, so he must be getting more in one way or another. That $2000 just seems crazy.

On the books "$2000". Just like Fedor made "$300 000" for his fight with Arlovski. They get paid way more then whats listed as I think Fedor got more in the ballpark of 2-3 million. Probably something to do with taxes,

It does. It has something to do with paying taxes in the their home country. I am not a CPA or anything, but I remember this being discussed on Sherdog radio about Fedor.

He gets paid by M1. He is lucky he got paid at all by Strikeforce.

Well, I prefer it this way. Get paid "little", get taxed "little", bank "big".

It keeps fighters from taking a more Lee Murray approach to finances.
