Wow seriously?!

Am I the first one to vote for Heath?

Heath has way more experience, way better stand-up and way better gas tank.

Frank got TKO´d by Pe de Pano for god´s sake.

Frank Mir is waaay too overrated on the internet. It doesn't even make sense. People say Tim Sylvia is a bum but they praise the man who's biggest victory is this man. Who else has Frank Mir beaten? (he lost to Dan C.)

He accually beat Dan C, and he was heavyweight champ give the guy some credit, he has good submissions and was subbing people in less than a minute back in the day and looked impressive.

When he got TKO'd by Pe de Pano it was his first fight back from his motorcycle accident which he has never been the same since. Hes obviously not a top guy in the division anymore but you have to give him some credit he is a real talented guy with good skills he just has to get his head back in the game just like Belfort.

Plus what top guys has Heath Herring beaten Igor Vovchanchyn thats it and most would consider Tim Sylvia to be a higher quality opponet than Igor ( not me personally), Plus he lost to guys like Jake Obrien and Travis Fulton. But i do admit Heath hasa fought better competition.

Overrall I think that both these guys are fighters who used to be great but now are over the hill and wont be in title contention anytime soon so i could care less about this fight. I think either one could take it.

IMO he's never looked particularly impressive. It was very unfortunate with the accident and everything but that doesn't mean that he isn't overrated and it surely doesn't mean that he would beat a guy like Heath Herring.

I don't care what the judges said. Dan Christison won that fight and everybody I've talked too about it agrees with me. Frank Mir looked terrible in that fight. I'm not trying to discredit the guy. It was a great armbar he caught Sylvia with but he would never win a rematch and he'll never see a major title fight again.

Heath has beaten guys like Vov, Kerr and Enson Inoue in the past but if you talk recent fights he beat Yokoi pretty convincingly and even Yokoi is a guy I would bet on against Mir.
Heath isn't the best fighter but he's sure good enough to TKO Mir in the 1st.

I have to go with Herring.

It's absurd to say that either of them is "over the hill", though. Herring is only 29 and Mir is 27 or 28. Both obviously have to raise their game to compete in the UFC, but either of them would be a Top-3 fighter in the IFL the minute they signed a contract (Herring-v-Rothwell, anyone?), and could beat almost any Bodog heavyweight (how about Mir-v-Zentsov?).

I think Mir might benefit from being a big fish in a small pond for a little while. Go kick the crap out of some guys and then try to come back to the UFC in a couple of years. Herring might also, but I'd like to see him in one more UFC fight before I make that call.

Guys, this is not fighter bashing in any way shape or form.. Mir is done. I like Mir a lot but he can't train hard anymore. That accident prevents him from conditioning and going hard. I think he should retire and become a commentator. Shame too, he was a great fighter.

I didnt think Mir was all that talented, even before his accident, but then again, Herring was never top of the ladder either.

Neither have had any really impressive wins, apart from Herring's victory of Vovchanchyn, but Herring has been fighting (and mostly losing) to tougher guys than Mir, I think overall he could have beaten Mir before the accident, and I dont think Post-accident Mir is much of a problem for anyone, sadly.

Like it has been said, Mir will never have the conditioning to be a competitor again, he is just too large, his physique doesnt give him much of a natural gas tank, and he gets really tired now. Its a shame really, perhaps if the accident hadnt happened, and he had been able to increase his skill set and get good Cardiovascular fitness, maybe he could have been something other than UFC HW champ, at a time when there was little competition in UFC.

Wow I actually really enjoyed his commentary. Really smart guy and a great commentator. He should continue with that.

herring would take him like he was his bitch

Even though Herring has lost to most of the big names he has fought, the fact he has fought just about all the big names in the heavyweight division should tell you something. The man fights in a similar fashion to James Thompson in that he comes out all guns ablazing, the only difference is that he thinks more than James which is how he wins matches, which are almost all entertaining to watch, win or lose.

I think Frank has had way too much trepidation in the octagon since coming back. I seriously think that Herring would overwhelm the dude with his experience taking on top flight guys, and just from sheer energy.

Herring would wind up in Mir's guard and get submitted quickly.

I felt he was a little off that night, but did a decent job. He did some guest commentation for the UFC in the past...and I was really impressed with him then. He may have been a little nervous for the WEC event, but I could see him doing it full time for sure.

Doesn't say THAT much. Compared to each other, Heath is clearly the more decorated fighter this far.

and he was the first and only one to submit Evan Tanner
Tito couldn't evn do that.

I say send them both to WEC. neither one of them will be in title contention any time soon in the ufc, and WEC is still trying to land big names, so it seems perfect for these two fighters to move.

As far as the fight goes i give a slight edge to herring but
something like 60% Herring and 40% Mir

Tito beat Tanner in a few seconds, and isnt known for his subs anyways... TK took Williams to a decision, tried repeditely to sub him but couldnt...
