Today I appeared on “Studio B with Shepard Smith,” which airs nationally on FOX News, for a piece about Sammy Vasquez, the Houston-based fighter who recently lost his life following an October fight at a Renegades Extreme Fighting Championship show.

Mixed-martial arts? The death of a fighter? FOX News?

Yes, I fully expected it to be a recipe for disaster.

I had about two hours’ notice for the guest spot, so I did a little studying, put out on something other than a Mizzou sweatshirt, and headed to the local TV station ready for battle.

The Washington Post briefly mentioned it yesterday in the Sports section, but it was only a small column on page 2, nowhere near the length of articles they run in the days before & after UFC events.

its really sad how the media has been attacking mma for years now and jsut when it seems it will start to go down, something like this happens. I personally think its retarded to attack the sport and they only chose to see the negative. You see new always when an NBA player (coby) or a NFL player does something bad, its everywhere on the new but they seem to ignore all the players who do well for the community.

News in a general sense will always be bias as its looking for something to keep the audiences attention.
So as always we will see-
Sports althetes being degraded for one player
The Iraq war always showing seens of fights even if the video is old
Celebrities being called fat or w.e. (i reall dont care what going on with them)
Murder trails with analystsbeing asked if they think the person is guilty or not (Like it mattersd what they think, its ultimately the judgesd decision and we dont know half the evidence which is half the story.)
