Bloody Elbow has learned that the UFC is considering an immediate rematch between Quinton Jackson and Forrest Griffin after the razor close decision on Saturday night. A major factor in determining whether there is such a rematch is Jackson's knee. If it is injured and he needs time off, then they'll go another direction, but a source from the Jackson camp say his leg was hurt in the fight, but sustained no damage that should keep him out for an extended period of time. Needless to say, that's not a certified medical opinion or anything, so the status of Jackson's knee remains a question mark.

i really don't even wanna think about the rematch. i think it would go the same way. Forrest may submit him this time though. i don't think rampage can finish him. griffin has gotten sooo much better than before and if he doesn't finish it than its going to decision and we all know how that goes....so how about put some time off for that rematch.

rampage is my favorite UFC fighter. (nick diaz is my favorite fighter obviously)

but come on how can you say he won forrest was controling the whole fight... rampage won the first and 4th in my opinion and thats it... forrest in my opinion won the 2nd round 10-8 which killed rampage

No rematch yet, both guys must fight again before they do it.

Next WILL be Dec.29, UFC 91: Griffin Vs Liddell. Which is a scary fight!

Im not sure what the controversy is over, I thought forrest won that fight hands down

If rampage couldnt handle forrests sticking and moving he would get outright been slaughtered by a more elusive machida

wow, Machida is going to have to wait forever to get a title shot now. Nice going, Rampage.

Forrest would get destroyed by Machida as well.

If think if Rampage gets this immediate rematch, I bet Chuck would be the first guy protesting. I dont think Machida would be protesting, He seems like a pretty patient guy.

They're going to screw Machida and make him wait either way. If Rampage isn't ready to go for the immediate rematch then I'm quite sure the UFC will give the next shot to the Liddell-Evans winner.

hes a mature guy, obviously hes not going to fight the decision regardless.
This is the guy that after winning against ninja(Wrongfully), gave murilo the trophy and his winning bonus... his character would never allow him to say after the fight that he didnt lose and in fact it was judges partiallity.

the point of rampage saying he got whooped means nothing.

I think a rematch would be good, because it was so close anyone could have won it. I bet it will be better than the first fight, because the time off made Forrest and Rampage rusty.

You could tell just by looking at Rampages face before the decision that he didn't think he won.

This is one of the few times I would agree with an imediate rematch. And maybe this time Rampage will take it a bit more serious.

I wouldn't complain about an immediate rematch. I think it's not a bad idea,.

I agree.

The fight was close enough that I could definitely see an immediate rematch. Now, if it had been a lopsided victory, I would disagree.

So ridiculous giving someone a rematch right away just cause the decision was close. What's gonna happen if Griffin wins a decision again, are they gonna keep giving Jackson chances until Forrest either breaks his leg or Jackson finally eeks out the decision.
Griffin winning decision=fine, good.
Jackson immediate title shot=That's the only bullshit involving these two.

The only reason that I dont think Rampage should get an immediate rematch is because of how stacked the division is with contenders. I would love it if they had him fight either Machida or T. Silva and then have the winner of that fight face the winner of Chuck/ Rashad. Then that winner gets a title shot. The good thing with that the questions will be answerd if either of them deserve a shot. iF Machida wins both fights, then he would have beaten 2 of the best to get a title shot, along with being the most deserving anyways. Same thing with Silva. Chuck would then have 3 wins in a row and that to me would be his chance to fight for the belt because he would have beaten good competition and ex champs usually get a title shot with 2 to 3 wins. If Page won both his fights, then he would be in the same boat as Chuck. An ex champ who beat good top competiton. But thats in a perfect world.
