Floyd Mayweather Sr. Interview on Floyd Jr. doing MMA
Great Interview, he drops the f-bomb about twenty times, but he gets his point across about what he thinks will happen to his son in MMA. Here's a small quote:
"All of this he talking about right now, this martial arts s***, I’m telling you, he about to get broke the f*** up right now. I’m telling you, he could forget all of that stuff being cute and how you supposed to hit somebody with a check hook. Man, them motherf*****’s going to take that check hook motherf***er and squeeze your guts out. I’m just being real with you man."

the truth has never been so funny!!!
Floyds dad said he'll lose in MMA? I pick him against anyone lol. Floyd's dad says he'll lose and he wins, it's funny that way.
the truth hurts, Wladimir Klitschko was on rome is burning and he said the same thing basically "don't go your gonna get hurt stay with boxing."

That stupid ass leonard Ellerbe supposed to be an advisor, what are you advising him to do man? leonard Ellerbe stuck up Lil Floyd's ass so ******* far, he can't ******* breathe

But all in all i think he is right.......i bet he would get along with dana
I like Floyd jr. but he should stay with boxing. He ain't no mma fighter.
Frickin' hilarious. Mayweather needs to train for at least a year (as said by Marcus Davis) then step into MMA. Right now, he'd get squashed.

Is everybody rapidly going insane?! If FMJ had no prior MMA training, i would bet against him if he fought my grappling instructor.
Are people seriously talking about him competing in the MMA?! It took Marcus Davis seven years to get good enough to win in the UFC. Mark Cuban is doing a terrible thing to the sport, because he puts an idea into people's heads that a boxer with no prior training could actually win in MMA. It also shows how little people actually know about this sport. I have absolutely no respect for Mark Cuban for starting up all this nonsense.
I think witht the right traianing it wouldn't take him long to be able to fight. But he would have to train with Chuck or Mirko learn the MMA stand up and takedown defence. I do agree if he got on the ground he would get hurt I am sure all the shit he is talking who ever got him down is poppin something out no warning pain just stright to snap!

This is what kills me. People that come to this forum supposedly know a thing or two about MMA. Chuck Liddell was a Division I wrestler in college, that's how he "learned" his stand-up defense.

I think if he wants to give MMA a shot, he is gonna have to devote all his time to it, and completely walk away from boxing (for now atleast) traing a solid year or year and a half of ju jitsu and wrestling..and start small... fight a few unexperianced fighters....and slowly develop and work his way ino it...if he really wants to

same mentality as a person with no stand up (royce) and all jiu jitsu (royce) could be a legend in this sport?
royce is still as one dimensional as floyd is. marcus davis shouldn't even be in the same sentance as PBF in boxing terms. if he learns a sprawl ( a la liddel, crocop (both with very weak ground games) ) i think hes a legit contender based on his natural ability and being one of the best boxers EVER.
it is good for the sport if a mediocre fighter anihilates him, but you are right if Cuban gets him a bunch of crap opponents and hypes them like they are amazing and even then I would be surprised if he won unless they are all one sided strikers themselves.
Come on guys, its called hype. Hes not going to fight in an MMA ring/cage, be it for Cuban or anyone else.
Oh, and enough with the "[insert name here] is bad for the sport". Not everything has to make or break the sport. Enough with the "sky is falling" mentality. MMA is here to stay, and nobody has the power to solely ruin it, Dana, Cuban, PBF, Lesnar, or anyone else for that matter. Let Cuban spend his money however he wants.
People are going to have to give up the elitist attitude... MMA is mainstream. It will have the same problems as all the major sports in due time, thanks to the growth. And for any of you that think that is a bad thing, you obviously dont remember what it was like being a fan before the TUF explosion.
Oh yeah, McBee... Your sig couldnt be further from the truth. Sorry man.

At least for Floyd Sr. knows what he is talking about. Props to him for knowing his shat! Floyd is going to get killed with no ground game or wrestling. Very funny and entertaining article though!
That's the funniest thing I've read in a while.
I don't care if it's Mike Tyson in his prime that we're talking about. If a boxer doesn't learn, and learn well, some of the other styles, he'll get his ass beat.
I don't know, but the more I hear arguments for a good sprawl, or take-down defense, the less "mixed" MMA becomes. It's not something wonderful to be a fantastic puncher and win because you prevent takedowns. Sure it's a part of the sport, but it's not something to aspire to. I think of it like the "trap" defense in Hockey.

Not sure if you know this but Floyd is the best boxer in the world. Boxing is part of MMA. If that is his strong point then he is going to use it. Chuck learned ok kick boxing rearly uses the kicks also using his D1 wrestling to become the Champ. Why couldn't Floyd use his world class Boxing and learn some take down defence and win? Chuck wasn't World class at anything and neither are most of the guys in mma.
For the record I don't like Floyd I just think its kinda arm chair QB to say "he wouldn't make it in my sport!"
I really think wrestling or grappling in general is a lot easier to be one sided with, so you can learn other deciplines as you fight, unlike a one sided striker who can be taken down and laid on by a one sided wrestler or BJJ. Sure the striker might score a couple of strikes but it rarely equals a ko with only a couple strikes a round.

I would agree with that. All I was trying to say is that its hard for me to belive that the best boxer in the world would lose to every guy under a UFC contract. I know that know one used those words but if you look back they might as well have. Look a Huston he had 2 pretty big wins and his boxing isn't even close to floyds. I don't think that floyd would beat a BJ or a Sherk but I can't write him off as a instant loser.
The differnce between Houston and Mayweather is that Houston came in as an unknown to the Jardine fight after Jardine had just KOd Griffin so Jardine would not of even considered trying to take him down and then Houston was faced with Sakara who is an Italian Boxer and probably thought he was a better boxer and was looking to prove it. I think everyone that faces Mayweather will know he is a better boxer than them and will not consider standing with him for any length. If people are not stupid, unlike Eddie Sanchez taking the CC fight I do not think any without sufficent takedowns will accept a fight with MayWeather unless it is outside of the UFC and Gary Shaw just throws a load of money at some no name brawler and questions their manhood if they do not take the fight.
