Fitch vs Gono

i know this isn't definately confirmed but should this happen, i think fitch should get someone like karo, koscheck or gsp and gono should be a bit further down against like burkman

Message made way to Fitch about being offered the fight against Gono at UFC 82, he asked for Karo. No official decisions have been made so far as to which opponent he will face.

Karo beating Fitch is the only way IMO, he can get a deserved title fight at this point.

At this point, Fitch should only be fighting top 6 guys.

I agree

Top 6 is a def reason Karo makes sense. If Karo isn't top 6 who is? Serra-Hughes-Gsp-Karo-Fitch-Kos... even if you don't like the order, how do you think both these guys aren't in top 10 at least? Karo is a gatekeeper jsut cuz he's such a dec'er. If he got more sub wins he'd have gotten his title shot a cpl times over.

I hope Fitch gets Karo... what sense does it make in the title picture to go from Koschek to Gono?

Gono has a history of losing to superb wrestlers such as Dennis Kang and Dan Henderson. Fitch is just as a great as a wrestler as those two and knows how to finish fights and always puts on an exciting performance.

He'd easily win this one IMO in the Late 1st or Early 2nd by TKO stoppage by strikes.

IMO he needs to fight Karo though. GSP has already been given the next shot which IMO is bullshit when you have Fitch and GSP both available and both impressive enough to fight each other for that title shot but thats how bad the UFC is messed up when it comes to playing favorites. But yeah I think he needs to fight Karo with the winner getting the next title shot. Would be a great fight IMO. Possible fight of the year.

I think it will be a good fight...
I'm not too sure on who'd win though.

but i kinda want fitch to good a "good" lose .. if ya'll know what i Mean... atleaste before he gets to the top.. it'll just improve his game... anyone who has actually competed in some form of one on one combat knows what i mean by that.

Karo vs Fitch would be an amazing fight. I do see Fitch getting the decision, and almost will feel bad for karo, but hey, f%ck it, fitch is on top of his game right now...i think he could take hughes

ill take it one further and say fitch and karo both should be fighting top 6 guys, who else do either of them have ot beat to prove they are title match worthy.

Right now, Fitch appears to be a machine. If he fights Karo, and wins. Then fights, Hughes or GSP (whoever is not champ), and wins. Then fights whoever is champ, Hughes or GSP, and wins. He will undoubtedly have made the greatest rise through the ranks in history.

Notice I did not include Serra into this scenario.

I agree with you xchickox, Gono should have to work his way up the rankings. I know he's a great fighter, but with as many great fighters as there are in this division he needs to beat a "gatekeeper" before getting a shot at the big boys IMO.
