Fitch vs G.S.P.

this is by far the best matchup in the welterweight devision and i hope it happens for the fans sake, it wont matter if hughes somehow gets passed serra because if fitch beats diego he is next in line for a shot according to dana white in the ufc 76 preview -Quote "people always asking how many guys does fitch have to beat and i said if he beats diego he is at the top of the food chain in that devision" Unquote- which could mean he is next instead of GSP which i would not argue with when you look at the whos who that hes beat 8 wins is enough (this includes the diego fight if he wins)

this is also if fitch wins the belt from the serra/hughes fight instead of dana's first pick GSP against the winner of serra/hughes (we all know GSP will stomp hughes again) but i would agree with holding GSP off until the next title defense even tho im a GSP fan.

however if BJ Penn comes back to welterweight i see him taking it from whoever, id like to see Penn vs GSP 2 as well (another top 5 bout)

i think that would be a good fight, they are going to need a big fight in the ww div because the title fight is a long way away

They will fight eventually and it will be a great fight but ... Fitch's record is not a who's who list. Don't get me wrong, he has a very accomplished resume and he has beaten a lot of tough opponents but it's not a who's who.

Fitch does need to beat a few top level fighters before getting a title shot. Beating Diego and GSP would automatically earn him the #1 contender spot.

There's absolutely no way Dana would give Fitch a shot at the belt before GSP. GSP's the former champ, it'll be a rubber match guaranteed to make tons of money if Hughes wins against Serra, and he just took out Koscheck convincingly.
Fitch will have to get in line, here's hoping he doesn't end up like Karo.

GSP is going to fight the winner of Hughes/Serra. Thats how it's going down. When Dana said, if Fitch beats Diego he is at the top of the food chain, he meant he would be the next in line after GSP got his shot. I would love for GSP to fight Fitch at some point. it has the potential to be one of the best fights in a while (seems like that is the case with alot of fights these days). At this point it is a very likely senario. It's to bad we have to wait so long for the Hughes Serra fight, the welterweigh div is just so stacked these days, were getting a log jam of fighters who deserve a shot.

The more I think about WW the more disgusted I get in regards to the TUF marketing machine slowing to a crawl what is the most exciting division in the UFC. In December, Hughes will have only fought once in 13 months; Serra will have the belt around his waist for 9 months and no defenses; GSP will have a 8-9 month layoff as well.
There is absolutely no way in Hell that anyone can convince me that Serra is a good enough fighter to justify this delay because he thinks Hughes was "a dick" in a TUF series two seasons ago.

Speaking of Parisyan, where is he? He hasn't fought since May and isn't on the 77 card although Burkman is scheduled.

i still dont agree with dana's decisions on title defenses and his title shots he gives but i wont argue when GSP snatches the belt back, but then we can accually see this fight at the next title defense in the ufc 80s

i dont know who i want to smash hughes more, serra...the guy hes talking smack about recently (which is liable to getting put to sleep like he did to GSP after nobody said serra would win) or GSP putting on a chuck liddell clinic of sprawl and brawl

i agree with serra without him having dwarf problems (unless he does, like reaching stuff or driving), and his buddy did want out of the fight like a puss, so....therefore..haha he is a puss for tapping a triangle that shouldnt have happened in the last 15 secs anyway
