So me and my buddy where sparring Tuesday and he landed a punch to the right side of my face, it wasn't even a hard hit it was more of momentum from my head turning into his fist... but anyway, busted my nose open (which doesn't take much to make it bleed anyway) and had sharp pain in my face. so we stopped just to make sure everything was cool.. no swelling no black eyes. so i take it easy for a bit and all i can feel is pressure building up in my face, so i go home ice it all night and yesterday it starts to bother me a lot so i call the doctor they say just go to the Emergency Room... so i go, ends up i broke my right orbital bone and have to go to a specialist Monday, has anyone else had this kind of injury? how long did it take you to get back into training? because its killing me taking any classes for now.

Wow, that really sucks. Is it affecting your eye/vision at all? What size gloves were you using? That dude must hit pretty damn hard to damage your orbital.
On a lighter note, as soon as it heals your friend will never let you forget it.
One of my buddies that's 6'4" southpaw (I'm 5'9" orthodox) clocked the bejesus out of me with disgusting cross sparring one time with 16 oz gloves and everything and put me down. He never lets me forget it.

nope its not affecting my vision at all, we where using 14oz gloves, but he just found out today that he actually broke something, he was away this weekend for a bachelor party

so i just got back from a ENT doctor, its just small enough where they don't think surgery is needed, and i can continue to train just no full contact so i can basically keep working my jujitsu just no boxing.

Good for you. Sounds terrible to have a broken orbital bone. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
