To really understand a man and the choices that he makes, you have to know where he comes from.

Beyond his public image, beyond your own projecting, you have to understand his place in the world. You have to understand how he has been influenced by the physical and psychological manifestations of his country's politics. Most importantly, you have to know his outlook on life.

It's easier said than done. Real understanding is often all but impossible

Its hard not to like a man who stands firm for what he believes is right. Everybody that slams him for not signing with the UFC should read this article. I dont think there is any doubt Fedor would like to fight the best in the world. Unfortunately for the MMA fan, he just is not willing to compromise on things that he believes are important. And Im not saying that its the UFC's fault they didnt get him, because I dont think its smart to have alot of money invested in someone who could get hurt competing in another event outside of your control. I think its just hard for the fans to accept the fact that maybe it was never meant for him to fight in the UFC. (sigh)

Maybe Cuban will be able to make something amazing happen...

lol i think fedor is a great guy but a joke as a fighter, and why i say that is, this guy signed with M-1 to fight nobodys, he needs ufc as much as they need him...

if he loses in his next fight, what that guy goes to #1 in the world and fedors #2?? i think fedor is not worth talkin about tell he goes and fights some great fighters.. im not sayin he hasnt, im sayin to stay #1,fight top 10 guys

I read that article this morning, and I must say it was very well written.Pretty much said everything I was thinking. While I would have loved to have seen Fedor in the UFC,he had his reasons for not signing, and when they day is over,Fedor does what's best for him,his team, and his family.Us fans must take a backseat to that, and it's understanable why.To say he's a joke is just plain crazy.

not him, as a fighter, which is fightin choices

to not go to UFC was a joke, i write that a lil wrong, as a fighter not fightin top guys is a joke to me, you can be 100-0 but if you fight guys that are not the best what does that really mean, he was on top, but as on now imo he can only go down if he fights nobodys

I guess he should compromise everything he has ever believed in and sign away any semblance of control over his own career so that he can gain the undying respect of some kid sitting at his computer eating doritos.

Give me a break.

Look at how many different athletes have come out talking about how unfairly the UFC has treated them and how ridiculous some of the clauses in the contract they offered Fedor were. They're trying to create a monopoly and shaft these world class athletes so that they can line their pockets with gold. A couple of guys who have the legacies and list of accomplishments to stand up to them and try to make the sport better for everyone are doing so but that makes them jokes to you because you don't get to watch him kimura big tim in the space of 180 seconds. That mindset is the only thing that I see as a joke here.

He's no joke. This fight can be made without the UFC. If you are an athlete and your organization doesn't give you the best offers, find an organization that will. If you don't go with the UFC or the "Don King" of MMA, then you can go with another promoter who will give you terms you like. You'd be an idiot to not go with what you WANT, if you were in a position to dictate what you want. Dig?

I was watching Fedor vs Cro Cop tonight and I realized something....had that fight been in the UFC with elbows, it would have been over in round two. IMHO Fedor saved alot of guys some devastating punishment by not signing with the UFC, his GnP would be unstoppable with elbows. (This whole statement pained me to say)
