Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 9 Finale
Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva at UFC 99
Cain Velasquez vs. Cheick Kongo at UFC 99
Martin Kampmann vs. Carlos Condit at UFC Fight Night 18
Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher at UFC 100

Honorable mention included Dan Henderson vs. Rich Franklin, Marcus Davis vs. Chris Lytle, Frankie Edgar vs. Sean Sherk, and Matt Hughes vs. Matt Serra, among others. Agree or disagree with the “highly unofficial” list from the promotion? Have other memorable fights in mind outside of the UFC that are even better than those mentioned above?

I agree with this list. That Diego Sanchez vs Clay Guida fight was amazing. They were brawling for nearly the entire 15 minutes. The pace stayed pretty much the same level for the entire 15 minutes as well. If a fight is going to beat that for Fight of the Year it has to be one really amazing fight.

I wouldn't put Kongo vs Cain on there.

Hmm...interesting list that I don't necessarily agree with. Imagine that.

Lytle vs Burns was a good one. I like a good fight with a finish, all of those fights went to decision. Sanchez vs Guida gets my vote off of that list.

How is Kongo vs Velasquez on there?

Cuz Cain took some monster shots on the chin and kept coming?

Other than that, it was a clear cut 30-26 for Cain... no finishing polish, but dominated him on the ground... Pretty uneventful fight actually.

Sanchez vs Guida was a WAR.

Wow I loved the Cain/Kongo fight. Lots of slams and knockouts. How could you not like that fight? Their was actually exciting GNP. Cain was relentless! Slammed the hell out of Kongo and Kongo kept dropping him. That fight was epic.

Love the list. Only fight I'd defintely add is Paul Kelly vs. Troy mandaloniz at 95, that fight was absolutely sick! Full out brawl!

I was scrolling down to see if anybody had mentioned it.

Davis vs. Hardy got mention from some posters, too. That was another great fight.

Of the choices, I would probably only agree on two of them...Sanchez vs Guida and Condit vs Kampman--Franklin vs Silva could probably be added, but I don't think it's what I would personally choose.

I would throw in...

Griffin vs Dos Anjos
Lytle vs Davis
Hardy vs Davis

I think everyone's forgetting a sick fight!

Nate Marquardt vs. Wilson Gouveia - Amazing fight with an insane ending to go with it!
