Looking at Vitor Belfort's record, i noticed that although he has 9 losses, he has lost to 7 quality fighters:

Couture
Sakuraba
Overeem
Liddell
Tito
Dan Henderson
Anderson

Sean Sherk only has 4 losses:

GSP
Matt Hughes
BJ
Frankie Edgar

can anyone else think of any other fighters with losses who have only lost to quality opponents? I know the word "quality" is debatable. One could consider quality losses as losses to champs or could be decisions where that fighter got screwed or won FOTN award.

edit: let's make it fighters w/ a minimum of 4 losses

i wanted to add Tito, but Hamill loss isnt quality. also, i'd like to see how lil nog does in his next couple to see if he still counts as quality. but this is all debatable. would anyone count tito?

What's most impressive is that whenever he rematched anyone who's beat him, he's avenged it with KOs.

Coleman
Forrest
Machida

Bisping's losses:

Sonnen
Rashad
Wanderlei
Dan Henderson

The obvious ones are already posted. One not so obvious, at least in my opinion, is Nakamura. He has a bad loss or two, but most of the guys he's lost to are champions.

Kazuhiro Nakamura

Losses:
Gerald Harris(not great)
Kazuo Misaki
Jorge Santiago
Sokoudjou
Machida - UFC Champ
Shogun - UFC Champ
Barnett - UFC Champ, King of Pancrase
Wanderlei - Pride Champ
Dan Henderson - Pride Champ
Little Nog x 2

Fedor

Fedor
Henderson
Barnett

How about Machida?

Shogun
Rampage
Jon Jones

That's quite the list of guys to lose to out of all of his numerous wins, with the Rampage fight being a toss up.

Bisping as mentioned has currently only lost to Former or Future champions other than Sonnen... Maybe it's a sign of things to come...
Evans went onto become champion
Hendo... Former PRIDE Champion and future Strikeforce champion
Wandy... Former PRIDE Champion
Sonnen.... Who knows!

Jim Miller, has everyone forgotten him?
Edgar
Maynard
Bendo

i didnt forget about him or machida. they didnt meet my 4 loss qualification. takes nothing away from their records though.

people can hate on the gsp thing, but serra is & always will be a champion, even if it was for that 1 fight.

Alot of fighters have already been mentioned so no point repeating them, i'll throw in Amir Sadollah just for the fact that all 8 of his pro fights have been in the ufc and he has only lost 3 times once to Johnny Hendricks, twice Hyun Kim and most recently Duane Ludwig. To me those are 'quality losses'.
SpiderSilva

Lesnar

Mir(inexperiance)
Overeem(Retired by the better fighter and diverticulitis)
Cain(Mexican)

Not that it's a big deal or anything, but you really didn't specify the 4 loss qualification at the beginning of the thread.

well 4 loss rule excludes Fedor, Maynard and GSP.

Kenny Florian:
Penn
Aldo
Sherk
Sanchez
Maynard
Fickett (in his 3rd pro fight while Fickett had like 20 already with wins over Prater and Hallman)

Diego Sanchez:
Fitch
Koscheck
Penn
Hathaway (still a prospect i guess, but hes 15-1)

Shinya Aoki i would mention but his first loss is to a mediocre fighter.
lohmann
2/4/12 5:08:18PM
PRIDE-era Kazushi Sakuraba, before he was a man held together by duct tape:

Igor Vovchanchyn
Wanderlei Silva
Wanderlei Silva
Mirko Filopovic
Nino Schembri (non-quality)
Wanderlei Silva
Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Ricardo Arona

And somebody never established as an all-time great but deserves some recognition, Renato Sobral:

Dan Henderson
Valentjin Overeem (non-quality)
Fedor Emelianenko (controversial)
Kevin Randleman
Chuck Liddell
Chael Sonnen
Chuck Liddell
Jason Lambert (non-quality)
Gegard Mousasi
Dan Henderson

hunt lost to Sean McCorkle

LOL,true but.....

Sean McCorkle
Mousasi
Manhoef
Overeem
Fedor
Barnett
Yoshida

For only 14 mma fights that's a lot of big names. Of course where leaving his kickboxing record out of it as well.
