As a follow-up to Fighter Salaries: The Problems With Revenue Linking, in the coming days I will be examining potential suggestions that could help to improve the hotly contested MMA issue that is fighter pay. For the sake of convenience - and also because they are the "800 lbs. gorilla in the room" - most of this discussion will focus on the UFC. While I certainly do not believe that the UFC and MMA are interchangeable, the sport's biggest organization is almost always at the forefront of every debate regarding the sport and the industry.

I find it funny everyone seams to think they know what should be done about fighters pay. They are always saying the UFC should do this or that but out of all the company's out there the UFC is the only one that has been around more than a week. I think they know what they are doing.

I agree.

I also really don't understand the debate over what "needs" to be done for any group's pay (regardless of job or profession).
When it becomes economically necessary to pay people more, it will be done.

I am not sure why people just assume that people like Dana White should be humanitarians (or charities for fighters). The UFC is a business, just like any other business. Their obligation is to make money, and not to make sure fighters are paid a "fair" amount.

After reading that write up I thought one thing. POINTLESS.

There is nothing of substance in there.

If fighters don't like what UFC pays, I heard Elite is hiring.
