crane vs. pellegrino is on there too. this looks like a pretty good card for a ufn. there are a lot of guys that put on exciting fights, im also hoping nate diaz's next fight will be on this card. im excited to see cory hill, cote mcfedries could be good and thiago tavares and kurt pellegrino always put on a great show, shaping up so far to be pretty nice.

should be some good submission stuff from miller, pellegrino and tavares and hopefully a knockout from mcfredries

if it hazelett against swick i think hazelett could beat him by sub

Tavares vs Omigawa is going to be sick (Tavares UD)

Stephens vs Miller is going to be sick (Miller 2nd rd Sub)

Crane vs Pellegrino is going to be sick (Pellegrino UD)

Cote vs McFedries is going to be sick (This is the hardest to pick, since Cote has never been KO'd and I think that if Cote doesn't get KO'd he'll win a dec. but I have faith in McFedries and I say 2nd rd KO)

....wow this card is shaping up to be one of the most competitive cards I've seen in a LONG time.

Yep Nate Diaz will be on this card as well, but why oh why arent they making the main event a rematch with Manny??????????????? instead he fights a can to get a win and Diaz will likely do the same here!

weak matchmaking imo, i know they dont want a tainted TUF winner but that fight deserves a rematch if ever one did!!!!!!

Not a bad card so far, Cote vs Drew may turn out to be an absolute war for the 3-4 minutes it may last :p

Anybody know why Crane is being billed as the underdog again? i know pellegrino has faught in the UFC more than Crane, but i thought in a match up with to BJJ specialists, Crane would be heavily favoured?

Yep i kinda thought that at first but actually if you take into account these other factors - striking, wrestling, mma/ufc experience - then you have to give them to Kurt so he has the best chance of winning all in all, Crane by sub is more of a risky pick to make i think

yeah its a bit risky to pick him, but i don't understand how hes labeled underdog because kurt cant be that much more of a favourite can he? I don't really think Kurt has done enough to show that he's a heavy favourite, its not a Jardine vs Alexander type (Yes, we all know what happened) where nobody knows Alexander or what he brings to the table.

Tavares is going to whoop Omigawa. I predict a submission in the 2nd round. Pellegrino is also going to tool Crane. Crane has excellent BJJ, but this is MMA, you cannot be one dimensional and expect to win.

Dude if your right not only are you going to get props from me but I'll freakin touch myself! That'd be a sick ass fight! OMG not even words could describe how sick and action packed that would be! Holy shit! I need to to wake myself up! Holy crap if its real!

Drew vs Cote? Stand up brawl of the year!!!

Not hype wise but as far as exciting fights go. This could be the greatest UFC maybe even MMA card ever

Lots of good fights, but I think McFedries vs Cote is going to f**king amazing! Both got dynamite in their hands. I'm going with cote for the ko though.

No dont go, come back please

Yep im excited too, the last fight night was pretty stacked but this one seems even better, they should make them longer so they can show more fights, if the 4 main card fights go long you will miss the other 5

Just updated 1st post with event poster, glad those 2 big fights are officially announced cos they will be ace, look forward to the rest of the card becoming official and hopefully none of these wicked undercard fights being spoiled with any injuries, still very intrigued to know what they will have as the final 4th main card fight, most likely Corey Hills tho

I think Cotevs Mcfedries is gonna be a great fight both are huge punchers, this is a knockout waiting 2 happen, i give cote the upperhand hes looked very impressive, lately.

Well we have our answer

And its pretty much the LAST thing people were expecting!!!

The 4th main card fight will NOT be the Corey Hill fight as expected, nor will it be the highly competative and exciting prospect of Miller VS Stephens, nope, it is in fact Tavares VS Omigawa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now i know Omigawa is better than his record suggests but still how can you justify putting a guy with a losing record on a ufc main card! And while Tavares is very good and a great prospect he is coming off a loss and doesnt deserve that spot IMHO

Weak UFC You really dropped the ball on that one! Joe Silva or Dana really should have looked at my poll results, out of 5 fights they pick the least wanted fight!

I would've preferred to have seen Miller/Stephens or maybe Corey/Veres instead of Tavares/Omigawa. However, the ultimate fighter finale had 5 fights on the broadcast. So, why not this too???
CornishMMA
12/19/07 8:06:22AM
Dunno mate, was that a longer telecast tho?

Im still shocked and somewhat disgusted at that, its just so weird cos while Tavares has potential he lost his last fight so isnt going to be a draw, same for Omigawa with his losing record! But they choose them over more popolar (and probably more exciting) TUF fighters like Miller or Hill WTF Dana/Joe Silva?!?

This was shaping up to be the best fight night ever but im afraid with this 4th fight being spoiled by choosing the least desired fight its not going to be, in convinced the other prelims will be better fights and i just have no idea why they have done this?

I just noticed the card for this event a few days ago. I’m probably most excited about the Cote/McFedries fight. For some reason, ever since his fight with Tito, I’ve been a Cote fan. Even in his loss to Doerkson I still considered him a great fighter. It’s apparent to me from his striking that he and St. Pierre used to train together quite a bit, though in his fight with Smith he used a lot more leg kicks than we’re used to seeing from him. He’s been looking better and better lately, and I’m hoping to see that continue.

Burkman/Swick sounds like a pretty good scrap. Diaz/Robinson should be interesting. Millers/Stephens, Tavares/Omigawa, Pellegrino/Crane all look pretty good to me.

Whatever they decide to air is completely fine with me; I have no complaints. I don’t really care to see one fight more than the other on this card, aside from Cote/McFedries. I’m equally as excited to see the rest of them.

Lucly you then bud but id way rather see the Miller or Hill or Maynard fights over Tavares tbh

I was hoping to see the Hill fight to see how far he has progressed. I agree UFC may have dropped the ball on the fourth fight, but the card overall is sick!
