How do you feel about the three consecutive losses in a row "rule"?

Just because I say "Orange Tree" = "Fire Truck" doesn't mean it's logical or a valid argument.

Any offer, no matter how shitty, is still an offer. Getting the boot means not getting an offer.

By the way, it doesn't really matter what you buy or what I buy, it matters what everyone buys. And guess what, there isn't really a big demand for Nick Diaz.

Huerta's marketable to the latino fan base that they are trying to build up.

Stevenson.. I can't believe someone would say he's not marketable! The guy is young as hell, very skilled, and very likeable IMO. I think Stevenson has a big future in the UFC.

Sherk and Diego I understand, though And I do see that you said "IMO" so I'm not calling your opinion out, I'm just kind of surprised. I'm especially surprised a BJJ practicioner such as yourself wouldn't like Stevenson.. but

I'm not saying I don't like Stevenson, in fact the guy is quickly becoming one of my favorite fighters. In fact, out of all the guys that have won TUF, I think Stevenson is the (or one of the) least remembered. To me that says something about his marketability.

However, I was commenting on the fact that good fighters are not necessarily marketable. A lot of the people that the UFC needs to pull in by marketing do not base their faves on skill alone. A lot of casual fans like fighters that are colourful, or have something they can relate to. Stevenson, despite being very talented is just too modest and soft spoken to reach out to a lot of people (the casual fans). Maybe it's just me, but I feel a lot of casual MMA fans are like WWF fans. Skills mean less than how they act outside the ring.

I can understand what you are saying about Huerta, but since I am from Canada, I don't even think about the potential number of latino fans in the US. Personally, if Heurta did not get on the cover of SI, he would've fought a tougher fighter a long time ago. I personally don't care for him.

Diego is just plain strange and I think people will think he is weird whether he wins or loses. Sherk is just boring. Anderson Silva is not marketable (because he doesn't speak English) and I think that's why he gets so many fights right now (despite MW being the weakest division). Gonzaga is not marketable either.

Some of the most marketable fighters IMO are

Rampage - because he's black and he's colourful
Rich Franklin - because he was a teacher
Hughes - farmboy and religious person
GSP - nice guy and ambassador for Canada
Bisping - TUF and British
Koscheck - All American athlete (though his attitude ruined some/most of his marketability)
Randy - nuff said.......

I'm not even going to go an list the TUF fighters.
