I think it's meh, but his opponent poses huge problems to anyone and he has a good chin. Could be an upset.

Well with Hong Man's size anything could happen, but after watching LeBanner take him apart last week in the K-1 World GP I think this will be a major mismatch. He looked very slow, and with Fedor's ground game and takedowns...

If he is so good, Why not sign a 2-3 fight deal with them, kick ass and then move on. Although he could be doing this with M1, I doubt it because he signed a 6 fight deal ( I think ).

Rediculous. If Fedor signed with the UFC he would fight Randy...then what? Tim? Nog? Cro Cop? Kongo? AA? Tim would probably give him a fight, but knowing tim it would be a jab fest hoping Fedor didn't get close enough to take him down. Nog, beat him twice. Cro Cop, I would love to see but he's not fighting well right now. Kongo, how fast can you say armbar? AA, he's "on the bench" and will probably be leaving for M-1 anyways. Outside the UFC he has a ton of options including anyone inside the UFC that Dana lets him fight, Overeem, Yvel, Barnett(match everyone would love), Bigfoot, Hunt 2, another match up with Semmy Schilt is being mentioned, I could list every HW in the entire world because guess what, since Fedor didn't sign with the UFC he can fight anyone who asks him to. Lindland has said he won't sign with the UFC because he doesn't want an exclusive commitment, the UFC has said they don't want Barnett, and also the UFC has since said they never wanted fedor for anything but to show Pride wasn't as good as many thought, so why should he sign with them?

Chois only chance is a straight up KO with a punch. Check out Chois GnP in his one MMA fight and tell me hes not ripe for a brutal armbar. He was fighting someone who hadn't a clue though and opened the fight with a flying front kick.

I might put some real money on Choi depending on how skewed the odds are. I'm guessing its going to be well over 1200+ for Choi.

why would fedor not sign witht he ufc for 2-3 fights? why would he? a professional athletes job is not to bend over so that random keyboard jockeys wont say he's afraid to fight the best in the world. he needs to do whats right for him. he is not the one stopping the fights with ufc fighters happening. all the ufc has to do is let their fighters fight him. it is their policy, their problem.

I'm happy with this fight.like you guys have mentioned,this is pretty much a warm up fight,despite the chance Choi could win this.Hey, in any fight either guy has a chance of winning.While I would have loved to have seen Fedor fight in the UFC,I think their's more interesting options for him outside of that promotion,and he gets to spread MMA through his home country of Russia.

And after watching the way Dana White conducted himself after Fedor signed with M-1,I get more angry the more I think about it.Ah I've rambled on long enough,it's not even eight in the moring yet.I need food!

Great another mediocre opponent for Fedor so he can fluff his record a little more, fight some real guys dont care if they arent in the UFC just fight some good guys Fedor. The guy used to be my #1 HW not anymore though the guy needs to fight some more A-level fighters maybe this giant dude will prove me wrong and beat Fedor but i doubt it not excited for this fight or any others that have Fedor fight b-level opponents i wont watch Fedor fight again until he fights someone good.

Every time the UFC Lawyers here start calling Fedor _______ (pussy, coward, ridiculous,etc) for not signing with the UFC because there's top competition there I think "who else beside Randy(which is not there anymore[because of this maybe?]), Sylvia and Gonzaga (hmm). PEOPLE, THE DEAL IS DONE and we have seen that Fedor-UFC discussion in so many threads that we already know you're "tired of him", he already signed with an Organization which allows fighters from others to come and fight (e.g. JZ, Gilbert), so he already has a contract ok, end of story. If you want to keep talking about him, put a picture of him in your wallpaper and say whatever you want to him every time you turn on your computer. I thought this thread was about his fight with Choi and not yet another "Fedor is crazy for not being on the UFC".

Anyways...back to the topic...

As someone mentioned, it's his first fight, he's been inactive for some time so what's the problem with some warm up? He might be the best one out there but he is still human. Also the fact that he's fighting some "clown in a circus" (as many of you call it) does not mean he's going to win, isn't it 2007 the year of the upset?? Anyways... I'm hoping to see an armbar

If fedor is not under contract with the ufc, then he will not fight anyone under contract with the ufc. Its not a matter of "dana lets him fight", the contracts are standardized and do not allow cross promotional fights. And you have gotta be kidding yourself by saying he has a "ton of options", did you just mention antonio silva? thats worse than hong man choi. The hunt fight was great, but have you seen the shape that he's in? he hasnt fought in 2 years. Barnett has been on the shelf just as long, he on the other hand is fedor's only good fight. Overeem.. hurray for another guy going up a weight class and giving up a size advantage to fight fedor, how about we just let lindland fight him again? maybe gomi? When you fight fedor, you can not be giving up advantages like size and weight and expect to win. You can list every heavyweight in the world, but with the exception of barnett (who hasnt fought in 2 years), you are at a serious lack of competition. Maybe if fedor came to the ufc, he would beat everyone there.. who knows, but theres a reason that none of the guys you've mentioned (except barnett) are top10 heavyweights.

Well you need to do a little research, Overeem doesn't give up any size to Fedor, he's 6'5 and about 225 while fedors 6'0 and about 227, he is acctually bigger then Fedor, and very skilled. Bigfoot's no good? I was reading threads about him needing to be in the UFC because he's a force, but I guess since he resigned with elite he's no good anymore? I also forgot to mention kharitonov. Also if the UFC wanted to have fedor come and fight they could, it's been done before, so yeah if they throw him a challenge and he accepts it he is allowed to fight there because of his contractual freedom.

I think many peoples are simply out of argument and they are trying to boost the credibility of some ridiculous opponents who are not and will never be in the top 10 or 15 !!

I didn't say they weren't top opponents, but one of the men Fedor fought and dominated twice is fighting for the title, and some may be leaving the UFC. Barnett is top 5, overeem is top 15, kharitonov is top 15, and so on and so on. There are alot of people outside the UFC that are great fighters, there are alot of great fighters in the UFC, and there are alot of great fighters that simply don't like dealing with Dana, if you didn't like your potential boss and he called you a crazy frenchman, would you work for him? Would you even consider working for a guy who felt the need to mention your nationality when describing you as something negative? With the US and Russia's history it would probably not be a good idea to badmouth the others country, and the people in it. If all your going to do is come into this thread to say "ahh this sucks, fedor sucks, he's dodging" don't post, we've heard it all before, Cro Cop wasn't supposed to get Ko'd by GG, GSP wasn't supposed to lose to Serra, Chuck wasn't supposed to lose to Jardine or rampage a long time ago, Vitor wasn't suposed to lose to Randy, shit happends watch the fight if you want to, and if you think it's just a freak show because he's tall then go out to the bar that night and forget it's even going on. No one's saying watch this fight, or read this thread, if all you have to contribute is the same things people have been saying since Fedor signed with M-1 then save it. Couture hasn't fought anyone since August and has no plans to fight anyone in the near future, does he suck? For that matter, Liddell has lost his last 2 fights, does he suck? What about Ken Shamrock? Hes coaching on a C-Class fight league (IFL). Royce Gracie? He lost to Matt Hughes, then beat Sakuraba and tested positive for steroids. Does he suck?

Anyone can claim to be a fan of a winner. It takes guts to show support for the guys who "suck" lately or haven't fought anyone "credible".

Like you said man, if there are so many good fighters out there, why does he will fight Choi ??
answer : because his agent will make alot of money and he don't care about the reputation and well being of his fighter .

If he was concerned about the #1 ranking of his guy, he would have find a real MMA fighter to atleast make this fight something else than a freak show.

i think fedor's agent is using him like the agent of Vera was doing by keeping him out of competition for his own profit.

All I was trying to get across, He should of signed a 2-3 fight deal, Come in and take the belt from Randy, Defend it twice and earn the pound for pound status that he has, Then leave and move on.

But then I think, The UFC could of killed the legacy of Fedor, He could of been scared, If he came an Couture beat him, Then Kongo/Sylvia/Arlovski beats him. He will be the mosted bashed on fighter around here.

At least in M1, If he loses this match, People will soon forget about it.
