alright, i just posted this in another thread, but i think it might be more relevant here

The organization that bought m-1 said that fedor would be fighting by january/feburary.. so here's my theory:

- a subsidiary of Zuffa bought m-1
- Fedor will be allowed to fight in both promotions, as well as sambo. All of the fighters that red devil wanted to put in the ufc will fight in m-1
- Finklestein will run m-1 for the most part, but he'll still have to answer to zuffa management, meaning that zuffa will have control over when and where fedor fights
- This will be zuffa's attempt at a promotion in the asian market
- fedor is now allowed to support his country
- fedor is now fighting top competition
- finklestein is now running a properly funded fight promotion
- all of red devil's fighters have contracts
- everyone's happy.

What do you think guys?

Do you honestly beleive they would sell it to Zuffa? Not me. I think it's cuban, he's got money, he knew exactly how to negotiate, I'll give everyone money because I'm so damn rich and I love mma and making more money. I'll also sign all the availible talent I can just as I do in the NBA. lol

cause its a win-win situation for everyone, not only does finklestein get all of his demands met, he also gets control over a heavily funded fight promotion with promises that it will take over the market that was once dominated by pride

Not to mention, if it is cuban a huge foothold in the US. He's also got the biggest money maker for Russia/Japan.

Initially I thought Cuban had bought M-1. It just makes a lot of sense. He would have who is considered by many to be the best fighter in the world in Fedor, plus he gets an intack ready to go MMA organization.

BUT...perhaps Zuffa bought M-1. It would help fill the void left in the Asian market with the disbanding of Pride.

I could see it going either way. No matter what Finkelstein and Fedor get ridiculously rich.

So, who gets Fedor? Asia? M-1?

While I would love to see Fedor in the UFC,I want to see what sort of competiton M-1 might stack up against him.You never know,we might get a big suprise.

I am almost positive that neither Zuffa nor Cuban bought M-1. It was bought by an "America company" which means it could be a company owned by Russian mob that happens to have an office in USA. Again, I think there is politics involved, and currently Russians don't want their best athlete going over to the US. Those guys still think they're living in a Cold War.

Ermmm what possible surprise could that be then?
They have been keeping these top quality fighters secret that are the true top 10 HW's in the world?
All they could get is Barnett, everyone else is signed with the UFC or K1

I dont know how people can keeping riding dana and the ufc for this. "Offer him whatever he wants", "do whatever it takes". They offered him 8x more than what randy was being paid per fight. They offered to sign a shitload of his team. I'm pretty sure they let him do the sambo tournaments too. Basically the ufc offered everything they could without bending over and taking it. This is strictly on the shoulders of fedor's management. I seriously hope that zuffa just played a great hand of poker and had a subsidiary company buy m-1. Or.. if it was cuban, to let fedor fight randy on the superbowl card.

Actually you don't know what they offered him; have you seen the contract????? Yea I didn't think so.

Don "Freakin" Frye that's who!

LOL
I don't know, but if they did get Barnett I would gladly watch him fight Fedor. What about Yvel?
He said himself he might be up to fight Fedor. While that wouldn't be my number one pick to fight Fedor,I think that could prove to be an interesting fight.

Dont forget about Strikeforce/Elite XC. They have been buying up these smaller promotions on the regular. I wouldnt mind at all if this "American Company" was them. I have really enjoyed watching them on Showtime and they are consistently producing quality shows. I doubt its them though.

Hell, for all we know it might be some company that just comes out of left field that we never would have expected,or maybe never even herd of.Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

your right, i havent seen the contract, i've just read all the articles where clauses in the contracts were listed. You can always argue over validity, but various sources have confirmed those clauses

Looks like people might be heading to M-1. The UFC's cheap ways might be over, as well as their "fight for us or fight in obscurity" additude.
