It's crazy, for hte talent etc. they have they get little recognition outside of Japan. Sucks that all these other new orgs are getting these big money backers but faithful old shooto is just sort of chugging along. Seriously though guys, give them a look, great org.

My favorite MMA Organization period is Shooto, for it is the truth, and is what all MMA should be. Granted there are quirks here and there, but they put on the most solid top to bottom cards and almost every fight is a real contest and a blast to watch. I like fighters in all the orgs, but the only one that holds any real significance to me is Shooto.
I love watching guys like Lion Tekeshi, Akitoshi Tamura and Hioki, the small guys. They are the most explosive and I won't be suprised if all MMA organizations implement lighter weight classes like Bantumweight and Flyweight, because watching guys like B.j. Kojima is a pleasure, I like watching Moon Wolf Sato because he bring so much charisma and talent to the fight game, much of what I like to see in a fighter. And If you look at all of the big Pride fighters most of them started their career in Shooto so
Hopefully i get a chance to meet him and say thanks when I'm on duty in Japan.

Not too mention tons of other below 155 fighters. And stickan, anyone who claims to follow Shooto and isn't familiar with Yasu Urashitani is a sad person, awesome striker, best in MMA save Anderson Silva IMO. But yeah, there is some merit to the lack of strong wrestlers thing. After T BLOOD Largely moved on and Kid and many of the other Japanese Wrestling based fighters went elsewhere the bottom sort of fell out on wrestling talent in Shooto. But I'm sure it will change, with rookies coming in every year and all.
