I'm not denying that it takes skill, I'm saying that it takes a totally different kind of skill, thus the boxing analogy. They both take skill but they aren't really comparable. If we're talking best actors to me that implies best actual acting, and I don't consider comedy and serious acting to be comparable, it's more just like an elaborate form of standup. You're creating an exact opposite effect of a serious movie by making your characters and premises intentionally ridiculous.
I'm a huge comedy fan, and I love Will Ferrel like I said, I just don't see how someone like Will Ferrel could be considered a good "actor" because to me actor implies something completely different.
